A Comparison of Five Maintenance Therapies for Reflux Esophagitis

Patients with reflux esophagitis have a high rate of relapse within one year after therapy is discontinued.We enrolled 175 adults with endoscopy-confirmed reflux esophagitis in a prospective study comparing five maintenance therapies. All the patients were initially treated with omeprazole (40 mg orally once a day) for four to eight weeks, and healing was confirmed by endoscopy. The essential oils composition of the skin, pulp and seeds from fruits of two Sicilian cultivars of Opuntia ficus-indica (cv. Sanguigna and cv. Surfarina has been obtainedby hydrodistillation and the possible semiochemical roles have been investigated comparing the data with those reported in the literature. Floral scent in sapromyiophilous plants often consists of complex blends with not only fetid (e.g., sulfides) but also sweet (e.g., terpenoids) volatile organic compounds and a recent study suggests that both groups of compounds are involved in pollinator attraction. Organic-rich layers (sapropels), preserved in eastern Mediterranean marine sediment records, represent pronounced perturbations to thermohaline circulation and environmental conditions in the basin, in response to enhanced African monsoon activity and subsequent massive freshwater discharge. During the most recent event, Sapropel S1 formed between 10.8 and 6.1 ka, when freshwater-driven stratification caused seafloor anoxia below ~1,800-m depth, as a result of both failure of deep water formation and enhanced productivity. A gene encoding a novel cell wall-associated protein of Staphylococcus saprophyticus that binds fibronectin and to sheep erythrocytes has been cloned and sequenced. The 4392 bp open reading frame codes for an amino acid sequence that is quite similar to the Atl, an autolysin, of Staphylococcus aureus and to the AtlE of S. epidermidis. The two regions of most pronounced homology code for an N-acetyl-muramyl-L-alanine amidase and for an endo-beta-N-acetyl-D-glucosaminidase. Saproksilo plēvspārņu daudzveidību ietekmējošie faktori mežu degumos Latvijā

Šajā darbā, “Īpaši aizsargājamo kukaiņu sugu un to dzīvotņu inventarizācija biotopu direktīvā iekļauto sugu un Biotopu aizsardzības stāvokļa izvērtējuma kontekstā” projekta ietvaros, atsevišķi tuvāk tika pētīti vecos un dabiskos boreālos mežos mītoši saproksilie plēvspārņi un to daudzveidību ietekmējošie faktori. Plēvspārņi ar logu lamatu metodi tika ievākti 5 Latvijas ainavzemēs. Kopumā ievākti 1391 kukaiņi no 14 plēvspārņu kārtas dzimtām un izvērtējot morfoloģiskās atšķirības (izņemot jātnieciņu dzimtas kukaiņus), atšķirtas 88 morfosugas. Darba mērķis ir teorētiski analizēt un praktiski pārbaudīt, kā veicināmas sadarbības prasmes sociālo mācību jomā pirmsskolā. Bakalaura darba teorētiskās daļas sākumā tiek aplūkotas sadarbības prasmes, to klasifikācija, sastāvdaļas, kā arī dažādu autoru viedokļi un atziņas par sadarbību.
