1 The use of small letters for the symbols “p” (partial pressure), “s” (saturation) and “c” (concentration) (e.g. pO2, sO2, cO2) follows recommendations of the IFCC and IUPAC [4]. This supports the use of contemporary word processing systems and mostly eliminates the need to use subscripts (except for chemical valencies: e.g. O2, CO2, H2CO3 etc.). Structure of longitudinal chromomagnetic fields in high energy collisions

We compute expectation values of spatial Wilson loops in the forward light cone of high-energy collisions. We consider ensembles of gauge field configurations generated from a classical Gaussian effective action as well as solutions of high-energy renormalization group evolution with fixed and running coupling. The initial fields correspond to a color field condensate exhibiting domain-like structure over distance scales of order the saturation scale. At later times universal scaling emerges at large distances for all ensembles, with a nontrivial critical exponent. Finally, we compare the results for the Wilson loop to the two-point correlator of magnetic fields.

Robust l2-gain control for 2D nonlinear stochastic systems with time-varying delays and actuator saturation

Abstract This paper is concerned with the problems of stability analysis and l2-gain control for a class of two-dimensional (2D) nonlinear stochastic systems with time-varying delays and actuator saturation. Firstly, a convex hull representation is used to describe the saturation behavior, and a sufficient condition for the existence of mean-square exponential stability of the considered system is derived. Then, a state feedback controller which guarantees the resulting closed-loop system to be mean-square exponentially stable with l2-gain performance is proposed, and an optimization procedure to maximize the estimation of domain of attraction is also given. Inter-Chain Structure Factors of Flexible Polymers in Solutions: A Monte Carlo Investigation

Off-lattice Monte Carlo simulations of both the single chain structure factor h(q) and the inter-chain structure factor HD(q) of flexible polymers in solutions are presented over a wide range of both wavenumber q and concentration c from the dilute to the concentrated regime, for chain lengths up to N = 256. The single chain properties $\{$gyration radius 〈Rg2〉, $h(q)\}$ are in reasonable agreement with the expected theoretical behavior, showing a crossover from swollen chains $\{\langle R_{\rm g}^2\rangle \propto N^{2\nu} ,~ h(q) \propto q^{-1/\nu}\}$ to Gaussian chains, and the data comply with a scaling description, with a correlation length ξ∝c-ν/(3ν-1). Characterization of inductors in partial saturation for SMPS applications

The exploitation of partially saturated inductors in Switching Mode Power Supply (SMPS) is a key strategy for reducing the size of SMPS and increasing their power density [1]. However an accurate characterization and modellization of each inductor is needed for a correct design and control of the SMPS [2]. Effect of pHand age of culture on cellular fatty acid composition of Leuconostoc oenos

The most abundant fatty acids were C18: 1w9, C19: 0 cy(w9,10) and C16:0, followed by C16: 1w9 and C14: 0. The pH considerably modified the fatty acid distribution in Lo107 (an acidophilic strain) and Lo8413 (a moderately acidophilic strain). However, moderate changes occurred for LoATCC 23277 (a less acidophilic strain). At pH 2.9, Lo107 has a remarkably high level of C19: 0 cy-(w9,10) and C19:0 cy(w11,12). Abstract The thermodynamic constants, associated with the interaction of three proteins with triazine dye affinity sorbents, have been derived from bath and frontal analysis experiments. In cases where mass-transfer restrictions are very high, calculation of the thermodynamic constants directly from frontal analysis experiments could not be achieved. In such cases, a portion of the adsorbate was always present in the effluent, a situation which has its effect as the split peak phenomenon. Improved unitarized Heavy Baryon Chiral Perturbation Theory for π N scattering

We show how the unitarized description of pion nucleon scattering within Heavy Baryon Chiral Perturbation Theory can be considerably improved, by a suitable reordering of the expansion over the nucleon mass. Within this framework, the $\Delta$ resonance and its associated pole can be recovered from the chiral parameters obtained from low-energy determinations. In addition, we can obtain a good description of the six $S$ and $P$ wave phase shifts in terms of chiral parameters with a natural size and compatible with the Resonance Saturation Hypothesis.

Biotic and abiotic soil properties influence survival of Listeria monocytogenes in soil

International audience; Listeria monocytogenes is a food-borne pathogen responsible for the potentially fatal disease listeriosis and terrestrial ecosystems have been hypothesized to be its natural reservoir. Therefore, identifying the key edaphic factors that influence its survival in soil is critical. We measured the survival of L. monocytogenes in a set of 100 soil samples belonging to the French Soil Quality Monitoring Network. This soil collection is meant to be representative of the pedology and land use of the whole French territory. The oxygen status of arterial human blood is described at least by four variables: Oxygen partial pressure (pO2, mmHg), oxygen saturation (sO2, %), hemoglobin content (cHb, g/dL) and oxygen content (cO2, mL/dL). Beside perfusion, however, the oxygen supply of all organs is decisively determined by the mean capillary pO2 which itself is primarily dependent on the arterial cO2. Therefore, the oxygen availability (cardiac output x caO2, mL/min) may be described by the cO2 value in arterial blood or those variables who determine the latter one.
