This paper addresses the question of the origin of the partial transcription of Gaius’ palimpsest still preserved in the Capitular Library of Verona (BCapVr, Cod. DCCCIX) and allows to solve the pretended «mystery» about its presence in this library. A comparison with the fair copy (Reinschrift) of the transcription belonging to the Berlin State Library – Prussian Cultural Heritage (SBB-PK, Ms. lat. fol. 308, K. 1, Konv. 1) shows that the Cod. DCCCIX of the Capitular Library can not be regarded as a forgotten copy or a gift. Similarly, the idea that the manuscript was the first fair copy of the transcription works is not plausible. Mūsdienās presbiopijas korekcija ir aktuāla, jo pieaug vidējā dzīvildze kā arī pieprasījums pēc labas dzīves kvalitātes. Pastāv vairākas presbiopijas terapijas iespējas, bet nav noteiktas vienas efektīvas ķirurģiskas metodes, kas sekmē pilnīgu presbiopijas korekciju. Pētījuma mērķis. Novertēt jaunu ķirurģiskās metodes efektivitāti presbiopijas korekcijai, lai uzlabotu akomodācijas spēju. Materiāli un metodes. Prospektīvs pētījums, kurā tika iekļauti pacienti, kas ambulatori vēlējās uzlabot savu redzi tuvumā laika posmā no 2015.gada septembra līdz 2016.gada martam. Darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 48 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 23 attēlus, 5 tabulas, 80 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis ir izvērtēt akomodācijas mikrofluktuācijas pirms un pēc redzes slodzes tuvumā un zilās gaismas filtra ietekmi uz akomodāciju. Mērījumi tika veikti, izmantojot ekscentrisko fotorefraktometru PowerRef3, 22 dalībniekiem, kas bija sadalīti divās vecuma grupās: jaunākajā (19 – 24 g.) un vecākajā (32 – 46 g.). Fiksācijas mērķis bija Maltas krusts 33 cm un 50 cm attālumā, kā arī 3,99 m attālumā no pētījuma dalībniekiem. Redzes slodzes tuvumā simulācijai izmantota Bubble Shooter spēle. Regulatory changes in pterin and carotenoid genes underlie balanced color polymorphisms in the wall lizard

Significance Reptiles show an amazing color diversity based on variation in melanins, carotenoids, and pterins. This study reveals genes controlling differences between three color morphs (white, orange, and yellow) in the common wall lizard. Orange pigmentation, due to high levels of orange/red pterins in skin, is caused by genetic changes in the sepiapterin reductase gene. Yellow skin, showing high levels of yellow carotenoids, is controlled by the beta-carotene oxygenase 2 locus. Thus, the color polymorphism in the common wall lizard is associated with changes in two small regions of the genome containing genes with crucial roles in pterin and carotenoid metabolism. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las propiedades psicométricas del Cuestionario para la Evaluación del Síndrome de Quemarse por el Trabajo (CESQT) en una muestra de profesionales de la salud italianos. La muestra estuvo formada por 695 participantes (453 profesionales de enfermería y 242 médicos). Según el género se identificaron 451 mujeres (64.9%) y 244 hombres (35.1%). El CESQT está formado por 20 ítems que se distribuyen en cuatro dimensiones: Ilusión por el trabajo (5 ítems), Desgaste psíquico (4 ítems), Indolencia (6 ítems), y Culpa (5 ítems). Maģistra darbs uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 35 lapām, satur 17 attēlus un 45 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: novērtēt sakādisko acu kustību adaptāciju nesportistiem un galda tenisa un frisbija spēlētājiem. Metode: Pētījuma izstrādē tika izmantota iViewX Experement Center datorprogramma. Acu kustības tika pierakstītas ar videookulogrāfu iViewX Hi-Speed. Secinājumi: Pētījuma dalībniekiem, kas regulāri nodarbojas ar sportu, novērojama straujāka sakādisko acu kustību adaptācija dubultsoļa uzdevumiem un zemāka sakādisko acu kustību latence, nekā nesportistiem.
