From local structure to nanosecond recrystallization dynamics in AgInSbTe phase-change materials

Phase-change optical memories are based on the astonishingly rapid nanosecond-scale crystallization of nanosized amorphous 'marks' in a polycrystalline layer. Models of crystallization exist for the commercially used phase-change alloy Ge(2)Sb(2)Te(5) (GST), but not for the equally important class of Sb-Te-based alloys. Summary: The sequence-based type 1,4,3,1,1,1 of Legionella pneumophila sg.1 is predominant in the Palermo city environment since several years. In this study, extended sequence-based typing and pulsed field gel electrophoresis were used in a combined approach in the aim to enhance discriminatory power of the molecular typing procedures. However, probably due to a common environmental reservoir and genetic stability, most of the strains circulating in the geographic area under study belong to the same clone and are, consequently, indistinguishable by molecular typing. Legionella pneumophila identifikācija, izmantojot MALDI-TOF MS un SBT metodes

Legionella pneumophila identifikācijai un subtipēšanai tika pielietotas divas metodes – MALDI-TOF MS un SBT. Tika izmantoti 22 no ūdens izolēti ZI ”BIOR” Legionella pneumophila celmi. Ar lateksa aglutinācijas metodi tika noteiktas izmantojamās Legionella pneumophila serogrupas – 1, 2, 3 un 6. MALDI-TOF MS ekstrakcijas metode nodrošināja 100 % identifikāciju visiem Legionella pneumophila izolātiem. Pēc 17 iegūtajiem masas spektra signāliem celmi tika efektīvi subtipēti. Ar SBT metodi celmiem tika iegūti alēļu profili un sekvences tipa numuri, kopumā 15 dažādi Legionella pneumophila ST, no kuriem divi – ST2191 un ST2192 iepriekš nebija iekļauti starptautiskajā ESGLI datubāzē. A teacher supervising the school practice of student teachers is regarded as an expert who sets an example of good teaching to future teachers and chooses teaching practices that support pupils’ cognitive and social development. This study examines the implementation of teaching practices and the interpretation of these practices by school-based teacher educators who supervise school practice of student teachers at universities’ innovation schools. Legionella pneumophila izplatība un sekvenču tipu daudzveidība Latvijas viesnīcu ūdensapgādes sistēmās

Legionella pneumophila ir nosacīti patogēna, dabiskās un mākslīgi radītās saldūdens ūdenskrātuvēs sastopama baktērija, kas spēj izraisīt infekcijas slimību – legionelozi. Lai noskaidrotu L. pneumophila izplatību Latvijā, no 40 viesnīcu ūdensapgādes sistēmām noņemti 240 karstā ūdens paraugi un testēti uz L. pneumophila klātbūtni. No pētījumā iesaistītajām viesnīcām 25 (65 %) viesnīcās konstatēts vismaz viens Legionella pozitīvs paraugs. Maksimālais L. pneumophila koloniju veidojošo vienību skaits vienā paraugā bija 1,1 x 104 kvv/l. Ar MALDI-TOF MS apstiprināti 99 L. pneumophila un 9 L. rubrilucens izolāti.
