GHOST: GRADIENT HISTOGRAM OF SPECTRAL TEXTURE
2021
International audience; A gradient-based texture feature for hyperspectral image is formulated with straightforward application to grayscale and color images. Processed in full band, GHOST is expressed as a four-dimensional probability density distribution encompassing joint metrological assessment of spectral and spatial properties. Its performance is close to Opponent Band Local Binary Pattern (OBLBP) in HyTexiLa texture classification (91 %-99 % accuracy) with feature size 0.2 % of OBLBP's.
DEVELOPMENT TRENDS OF ACCOUNTING REQUIREMENTS OF SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN THE REPUBLIC OF LATVIA
2010
The significance of small and medium enterprises (SME) including the development of micro enterprises has been emphasized more and more often in the national economic policy of many countries. This issue is also topical in the economy of Latvia, especially in the situation when it is necessary to revive and stimulate the economic activity in the country. Taking into account the measures planned by the European Commission and the amendments to the legislation of the Republic of Latvia and the planned measures regarding the support of SME as well as the differentiation of requirements in the field of accounting depending on the scale of activities the authors analyse the questions which are c…
Limited liability companies in Poland
2020
This study discusses the construction of a limited liability company (LLC) under Polish law. Due to the short length of the article and the large scale of the issue, this study is limited to the presentation of basic concepts. The construction of an LLC under Polish law is flexible and has been modernised, as a result of a number of amendments, including a fast registration path.
Content based segmentation of patterned wafers
2004
We extend our previous work on the image segmentation of electronic structures on patterned wafers to improve the defect detection process on optical inspection tools. Die-to-die wafer in- spection is based on the comparison of the same area on two neigh- boring dies. The dissimilarities between the images are a result of defects in this area of one of the dies. The noise level can vary from one structure to the other, within the same image. Therefore, seg- mentation is required to create a mask and apply an optimal thresh- old in each region. Contrast variation on the texture can affect the response of the parameters used for the segmentation. We show a method to anticipate these variation…
PD recognition by means of statistical and fractal parameters and a neural network
2000
A novel partial discharge (PD) defect identification method is described. Starting with PD data on different families of specimens, a suitable set of parameters are determined and then used as input variables to a neural network for the purpose of identifying the defects within the insulation. In this procedure the statistical Weibull analysis is performed on PD pulse amplitude histograms to obtain the scale parameter /spl alpha/ and the shape parameter /spl beta/. Thereafter, the two statistical operators (skewness and kurtosis) and two fractal parameters (fractal dimension and lacunarity) are evaluated from the PD phase on the discharge epoch histogram and from the 3 dimensional (pulse am…
Association between pain, central sensitization and anxiety in postherpetic neuralgia
2014
Background In postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), dorsal root ganglia neurons are damaged. According to the proposed models, PHN pain might be associated with nociceptive deafferentation, and peripheral (heat hyperalgesia) or central sensitization (allodynia). Methods In 36 PHN patients, afferent nerve fibre function was characterized using quantitative sensory testing and histamine-induced flare analysis. Psychological factors were evaluated with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), disease-related quality of life (QoL) with SF-36 and pain with the McGill questionnaire [pain rating index (PRI)]. The patients were also divided into subgroups according to the presence or absence of br…
Fear of COVID-19, Risk Perception and Stress Level in Polish Nurses During COVID-19 Outbreak
2021
Introduction. The outbreak of COVID-19 disease causes severe stress in health care workers, especially nurses.Nurses are at high risk of contracting the disease, as well as an increased risk of developing mental health symptomssuch as fear, anxiety and work-related stress.Aim. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between fear of COVID-19, risk perception, perceivedthreat and stress in Polish nurses during COVID-19 outbreak.Material and Methods. 106 nurses participated in the study. Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), Fear of COVID-19 Scale(FOC-6), Risk of Contracting COVID-19 Scale and Perceived Threat of COVID-19 Scale were used in the study.Results. It has been shown that p…
Hidden Markov Random Field model and BFGS algorithm for Brain Image Segmentation
2016
Brain MR images segmentation has attracted a particular focus in medical imaging. The automatic image analysis and interpretation became a necessity. Segmentation is one of the key operations to provide a crucial decision support to physicians. Its goal is to simplify the representation of an image into items meaningful and easier to analyze. Hidden Markov Random Fields (HMRF) provide an elegant way to model the segmentation problem. This model leads to the minimization problem of a function. BFGS (Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno algorithm) is one of the most powerful methods to solve unconstrained optimization problem. This paper presents how we combine HMRF and BFGS to achieve a good seg…
Agroecology as a challenge for the competitiveness of small scale agriculture
2018
Effect of preemptive analgesia with ibuprofen in the control of postoperative pain in dental implant surgeries: A randomized, triple-blind controlled…
2019
Background Preemptive analgesia has as its basic principle the administration of analgesics before the onset of painful stimuli, in order to reduce or prevent postoperative pain, but this question is little explored in implantology. Thus, this study was conducted in order to evaluate the clinical efficacy of ibuprofen in pain prevention after unit implant surgery. Material and Methods For this triple-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled and randomized clinical trial, 54 insertion surgeries of unitary implants were performed. Two groups have received two different protocols 1 hour before surgery: Ibuprofen group (IBU) 600 mg of ibuprofen; and (2) placebo group (maize starch). The intensity of…
