Hałdy należą do antropogenicznych form ukształtowanych przez człowieka, kojarzone są przede wszystkim z degradacją środowiska przyrodniczego. Materiał na nich składowany (skały, żużel, popiół) związany jest głównie z przemysłem wydobywczym, hutniczym i energetycznym. Na terenie województwa śląskiego takich obiektów jest najwięcej w kraju, co ma bezpośredni związek z intensywną industrializacją i urbanizacją tego obszaru od połowy XIX wieku. Na tle zasadniczych nurtów współczesnej chrystologii i klasyfikacji sporządzonej przez kard. Waltera Kaspera przedstawiono kilka istotnych założeń i cech chrystologii Wacława Hryniewicza. Źródła artykułu ograniczono do jego paschalnej trylogii: Chrystus nasza Pascha (1982), Nasza Pascha w Chrystusie (1987), Pascha Chrystusa w dziejach człowieka i wszechświata (1991). This text is part of the author’s research on the literary culture of the nineteenth-century Upper Silesia. The author shows that at the forefront of modern Europe (at the beginning of industrialization and urbanization of the continent) the autochthon writers of Upper Silesia undertook actions aimed at fostering cultural awareness amongst their compatriots, who were considered to belong to a national minority, in order to instil patriotic feelings in them. In the current post-colonial discourse their struggles are recognized as the “voice of the periphery”. Artykuł dowodzi, że w warunkach obcej państwowości ukształtował się w XIX stuleciu na Śląsku polski protokół sądowy jako gatunek tekstu. Oparty był na wzorach niemieckich, wymaganych przez oficjalne czynniki administracyjne. Zawierał konstytutywne wyznaczniki gatunkowe protokołu. Świadczą o tym liczne protokoły polskie zapisane w księgach protokolarnych sądów rozjemczych powiatu strzeleckiego, przechowywane w Archiwum Państwowym w Opolu. The incidence of multiple pregnancy has increased, particularly because of the advances in assisted reproductive technologies. Multiple gestations are high risk pregnancies, especially the monochorionic ones. Two/thirds of initially twin pregnancies result in singles at birth, a condition defined as vanishing twin syndrome. The intrauterine death of one of the twins can cause direct fetal damage to the surviving one on several levels. The paper describes the case of a child born from twin pregnancy that was interrupted for one of the co-twins at early second trimester of gestation who presented with aplasia cutis congenita.
Extended Families as Communities of Religious Experience in Late Seventeenth-Century Eastern Finland

AbstractThis chapter offers an interpretation of extended families as communities of experience in a rural area close to the eastern border of the Swedish realm. Through a case study of lower court records, Kuha examines the social and religious life in a 17th-century farm culminating in the crisis of an extended family. The chapter explores how practices of lived religion shaped the relationship of the community and the individual, and how experiences were negotiated within families and local communities. The analysis highlights the importance of protecting the boundaries of the household as well as the meaning of religious practices in creating cohesion within the community.
