Search for collectivity with azimuthal J/ψ -hadron correlations in high multiplicity p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 and 8.16 TeV
2018
We present a measurement of azimuthal correlations between inclusive J/ψ and charged hadrons in p–Pb collisions recorded with the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The J/ψ are reconstructed at forward (p-going, ) and backward (Pb-going, ) rapidity via their decay channel, while the charged hadrons are reconstructed at mid-rapidity (). The correlations are expressed in terms of associated charged-hadron yields per J/ψ trigger. A rapidity gap of at least 1.5 units is required between the trigger J/ψ and the associated charged hadrons. Possible correlations due to collective effects are assessed by subtracting the associated per-trigger yields in the low-multiplicity collisions from those in the…
Prospects for detecting the diffuse supernova neutrino background with JUNO
2022
We present the detection potential for the diffuse supernova neutrino background (DSNB) at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), using the inverse-beta-decay (IBD) detection channel on free protons. We employ the latest information on the DSNB flux predictions, and investigate in detail the background and its reduction for the DSNB search at JUNO. The atmospheric neutrino induced neutral current (NC) background turns out to be the most critical background, whose uncertainty is carefully evaluated from both the spread of model predictions and an envisaged in situ measurement. We also make a careful study on the background suppression with the pulse shape discrimination (PSD) …

Feasibility and physics potential of detecting 8B solar neutrinos at JUNO
2021
The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) features a 20 kt multi-purpose underground liquid scintillator sphere as its main detector. Some of JUNO's features make it an excellent location for B-8 solar neutrino measurements, such as its low-energy threshold, high energy resolution compared with water Cherenkov detectors, and much larger target mass compared with previous liquid scintillator detectors. In this paper, we present a comprehensive assessment of JUNO's potential for detecting B solar neutrinos via the neutrino-electron elastic scattering process. A reduced 2 MeV threshold for the recoil electron energy is found to be achievable, assuming that the intrinsic radioactive …
Musical and social factors affecting attention regulation of children in band playing and mobile music making
2017
This study focuses on attention and hyperactivity regulation of children in band playing and mobile music making. The study aims at finding the musical and social elements that help children to regulate their attention, and lead to positive social interaction. Within the mobile music making, stand-alone playing and pair work scenarios are analysed. Within the band playing, instructed and improvised playing are compared. This research is a multiple case study with four participants: two children with ADHD and two comparison children without ADHD. Non-participatory observation is applied as the main data collection method. The data, in the form of video recordings, is analysed both qualitativ…
Suomalainen musiikki Japanissa: viennin rakenne, ongelmat ja mahdollisuudet
2010
Aiempaan kirjallisuuteen nojaaminen havaittiin vaikeaksi, sillä olemassa olevien Japanin-musiikkivientitutkimusten havaittiin …

Thermodynamics of a Phase-Driven Proximity Josephson Junction
2019
We study the thermodynamic properties of a superconductor/normal metal/superconductor Josephson junction {in the short limit}. Owing to the proximity effect, such a junction constitutes a thermodynamic system where {phase difference}, supercurrent, temperature and entropy are thermodynamical variables connected by equations of state. These allow conceiving quasi-static processes that we characterize in terms of heat and work exchanged. Finally, we combine such processes to construct a Josephson-based Otto and Stirling cycles. We study the related performance in both engine and refrigerator operating mode.
