Supply chain coordination under asymmetric information and partial vertical integration

AbstractSupply chain contracting is known to suffer from inefficiency in the presence of asymmetric information. Full vertical integration would eliminate the informational inefficiency but can be strategically undesirable. Yet today’s supply chain partnerships exhibit a certain degree of partial vertical integration via equity ties between the firms. Such governance forms received limited attention in supply chain research. Management literature suggests that partial vertical integration may help the firms to ease contracting problems by aligning their incentives, and thus improve the total surplus. Este trabajo investiga el impacto de la encriptación y desencriptación de datos en un sistema de comunicaciones de luz visible (VLC) de difusión en interiores incrustado en la capa física. Se ha implementado el cifrado RSA para proporcionar una transmisión de datos segura en la capa física. El artículo muestra el rendimiento de la tasa de error de bits (BER) para los sistemas VLC seguros y no seguros (8 y 12 bits) para velocidades de datos de 2 y 12 Mbps. Para una BER de 10e-4 mostramos que hay penalizaciones de potencia de 2-4 dB con las VLC seguras. Abstract The oxidation in cation deficient spinels of copper iron spinels Cu x Fe 3− x O 4 (0 x ≤ 1) synthesized by soft chemistry with a grain size x per mole of ferrite, three oxidation phenomena corresponding to Cu + at B-sites (130°C), Fe 2+ at B-sites (180°C) and Cu + at A-sites (240°C) have been found in close relation with the cation-oxygen distance of each oxidizable cation. For nonstoichiometric synthesized spinels Cu x Fe 3− x O 4+ δ with δ x , the presence of additional interstitial Cu + ions has been envisaged. Classical silica technology has reached its limit with respect to an ultimate minimum particle size of about 2 microm in diameter. Here, a novel process is presented which allows one to synthesize porous silica beads and control their particle diameter in situ, within the range of 0.2-2.0 microm. As a result, no sizing is required and losses of silica are avoided. Furthermore, the process enables one to control in situ the pore structural parameters and the surface chemistry of the silica beads. Isolation and molecular characterization of brain microvascular endothelial cells from human brain tumors.

Brain tumor formation and growth is accompanied by the proliferation and infiltration of blood capillaries. The phenotypes of endothelial cells that make up capillaries are known to differ not only in the tissues in which endothelial cells are located but also as a result of the microenvironment to which they are exposed. For this reason, primary cultures of brain endothelial cells were isolated from human brain tumors removed by surgery and compared with cells from normal tissue.
