Koherentas kustības uztvere skolas vecuma bērniem ar sašaurinātu vizuālās uztveres lauku

Maģistra darbs tika uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 40 lapām, darbs satur 24 attēlus, 8 tabulas un satur 28 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: Noteikt koherentas kustības slieksni skolas vecuma bērniem ar sašaurinātu vizuālās uzmanības lauku. Metodika: Dalībnieki tika iedalīti divās grupās balstoties un nevārda atpazīšanas testa rezultātiem – grupa ar sašaurinātu vizuālās uztveres lauku un grupa ar attīstībai atbilstošu vizuālās uztveres lauka lielumu. Abu grupu dalībniekiem tika noteikts koherentas kustības slieksnis, izmantojot izkliedēto punktu kinematogrammas. Neuromuscular function during knee exercises in water : with special reference to hydrodynamics and therapy

The present series of studies examined neuromuscular function during knee exercise in water and training responses of an aquatic exercise program. Emphasis was placed on the quantification of water resistance, the drag. Subjects who participated in this series of studies were 25-35-year-old healthy women and men. Neuromuscular function was examined using electromyography (EMG), force and reflex sensitivity measurements in the isometric condition on land and in water. EMG and angular velocity were measured during dynamic knee extension-flexion in still and flowing water. The drag forces acting on the leg and foot model were measured in the barefoot condition and with a large resistance boot.

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuvailla ja tulkita sitä, millainen ideologinen tausta Suomen huippumalli haussa -ohjelmalla on. Aineistona tutkimuksessa käytettiin vuoden 2010 keväällä esitettyjen ohjelman kolmannen tuotantokauden jaksoja, joita oli yhteensä kymmenen. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa oli tarkoitus tarkastella, miten valtasuhteita ja ideologisuutta tuotetaan ohjelmassa, sekä pohtia sitä, kuka tai mikä kyseisistä valinnoista hyötyy. Obesity is a health problem of global, epidemic proportions and a major risk factor for chronic diseases resulting in accelerated morbidity and mortality. Dyslipidemia with a predominance of small dense LDL, impaired functionality of HDL particles, and increased serum levels of remnant particles due to impaired clearance of triglyceriderich lipoproteins significantly heightens cardiovascular events in obese subjects. Modified morphological correlation based on bit-map representations.

Pattern recognition with high discrimination can be achieved with a morphological correlator. A modification of this correlator is carried out by use of a binary slicing process instead of linear thresholding. Although the obtained correlation result is not identical to the conventional morphological correlation, it requires fewer calculations and provides even higher discrimination. Two optical experimental implementations of this modified morphological correlator as well as some experimental results are shown.
Asthma and metabolic syndrome: Current knowledge and future perspectives

Asthma and obesity are epidemiologically linked; however, similar relationships are also observed with other markers of the metabolic syndrome, such as insulin resistance and dyslipidemia, which cannot be accounted for by increased body mass alone. Obesity appears to be a predisposing factor for the asthma onset, both in adults and in children. In addition, obesity could make asthma more difficult to control and to treat. Although obesity may predispose to increased Th2 inflammation or tendency to atopy, other mechanisms need to be considered, such as those mediated by hyperglycaemia, hyperinsulinemia and dyslipidemia in the context of metabolic syndrome. AbstractViolence at school is considered to be an important issue in Spain, despite the fact that the majority of secondary education students reject it. Over the last decade awareness has been raised with regard to this problem. In this study we aim to analyze the perception of school violence held by two very different groups of secondary education students. A sample of young Muslims (n=88) and young Valencians (n=88) (aged between 12 and 18) has been used, all of whom live in the city of Valencia (Spain) and study in 12 secondary educational centers in the city. Daugavpils (Latvia) and Narva (Estonia) are cities in the Baltic States and signifi cant cultural and economic centres of their respective countries. Cilvēka bokavīrusa iesaiste dziļāko elpceļu slimību un akūta gastroenterīta patoģenēzē hospitalizētiem bērniem

Dziļāko elpceļu slimības un akūts gastroenterīts ir galevnais cēlonis bērnu saslimšanai un mirstībai visā pasaulē. Arī Latvijas bērnu populācijā šīs slimības ir bieži sastopamas, tomēr ne vienmēr ir zināms šo slimību etioloģiskais aģents. Cilvēka bokavīruss (HBoV) ir 2005. gadā atklāts parvovīruss, ko saista ar elpceļu slimību un akūta gastroenterīta izraisīšanu bērniem. Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot HBoV iesaisti dziļāko elpceļu slimību un akūta gastroenterīta patoģenēzē hospitalizētiem bērniem.
