Un nouvel invariant des algèbres de Lie et des super-algèbres de Lie quadratiques

2011

In this thesis, we defind a new invariant of quadratic Lie algebras and quadratic Lie superalgebras and give a complete study and classification of singular quadratic Lie algebras and singular quadratic Lie superalgebras, i.e. those for which the invariant does not vanish. The classification is related to adjoint orbits of Lie algebras o(m) and sp(2n). Also, we give an isomorphic characterization of 2-step nilpotent quadratic Lie algebras and quasi-singular quadratic Lie superalgebras for the purpose of completeness. We study pseudo-Euclidean Jordan algebras obtained as double extensions of a quadratic vector space by a one-dimensional algebra and 2-step nilpotent pseudo-Euclidean Jordan al…

Domestic pig prioritized in one health action against fascioliasis in human endemic areas: Experimental assessment of transmission capacity and epide…

2021

The Northern Bolivian Altiplano is the human fascioliasis hyperendemic area where the highest prevalences and intensities in humans have been reported. Preventive chemotherapy was implemented in the last ten years. Surveillance showed high human infection and re-infection rates in between the annual triclabendazole monodose treatments. A complementary One Health control action was launched to decrease the infection risk. Among the multidisciplinary axes, there is the need to establish animal reservoir species priorities for a more efficient control. Laboratory and field studies were performed for the first time to assess the Fasciola hepatica transmission capacity of the pig and its potenti…

MR 2918162 Reviewed Van der Geer G. and Kouvidakis A. The Hodge bundle on Hurwitz spaces. Pure and Applied Mathematics Quarterly (2011) 7, no. 4, 129…

2012

In this paper the authors consider the Hurwitz space $H_{g, \, d}$ that parametrizes degree $d$ simple coverings of $\mathbb{P}^{1}$ with $b = 2 g - 2 + 2d$ branch points. The compactification $\bar{H}_{g, \, d}$ of this Hurwitz space is the space of admissible covers of genus $g$ and degree $d$, $f: C \rightarrow P$, where $C$ is a nodal curve and $P$ is a stable $b$-pointed curve of genus $0$. Assigning to $f: C \rightarrow P$ the stabilized model of $C$, one defines a natural map $\phi: \bar{H}_{g, \, d} \rightarrow \bar{M}_{g}$ where $\bar{M}_{g}$ denotes the moduli space of stable curves of genus $g$. The Hurwitz space $\bar{H}_{g, \, d}$ carries a natural $\mathbb{Q}$-divisor class, t…

Molte Palermo. Temi

2019

In the theme of unfinished ideas of possible cities will recognize the connotative paradigm of the evolution of Palermo will be recognised along a thousand year path of transformational processes none of which was completed by virtue of the distinctive value of exemplum that does not require additional and conclusive demonstrations. The course of history has moreover imposed on Palermo a cyclical recurrence of broken destinies. This was evidence of the invention of the capital city that of the “geometric square and the cross roads” superimposed on the archetypal underpinning of Pan-ormos as a place of exchange. And incompleteness will be the hallmark of the city of the nineteenth century straight roads heading towards undefined destinations the symptomatic expression of the idea of a preordained effect of suspension. Similarly unfinished will be the Palermo of the redevelopment plans in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries upto the shapeless development of the contemporary city and the new arterial routes (the Circonvallazione) manifestations of further “Palermo as abstraction” ever more distant from “Palermo as places”. A city ultimately characterized by continuous metamorphoses replacement of values absorptions oblivion and cultural desecration. From this distance one can indeed observe Palermo from a marginal and peripherical point of view as regards its urban limits opening up a different prospect penetrating and maybe even superior able to understand facts and phenomena in depth.Settore ICAR/14 - Composizione Architettonica E Urbana

Long time behavior for a dissipative shallow water model

2013

We consider the two-dimensional shallow water model derived by Levermore and Sammartino (Nonlinearity 14,2001), describing the motion of an incompressible fluid, confined in a shallow basin, with varying bottom topography. We construct the approximate inertial manifolds for the associated dynamical system and estimate its order. Finally, considering the whole domain R^2 and under suitable conditions on the time dependent forcing term, we prove the L^2 asymptotic decay of the weak solutions.

Partial data inverse problems for Maxwell equations via Carleman estimates

2015

In this article we consider an inverse boundary value problem for the time-harmonic Maxwell equations. We show that the electromagnetic material parameters are determined by boundary measurements where part of the boundary data is measured on a possibly very small set. This is an extension of earlier scalar results of Bukhgeim-Uhlmann and Kenig-Sj\"ostrand-Uhlmann to the Maxwell system. The main contribution is to show that the Carleman estimate approach to scalar partial data inverse problems introduced in those works can be carried over to the Maxwell system.

Optimal Control of Dissipative Quantum Systems

2008

We study the control of finite dimensional quantum systems by external laser fields. After examining the concrete example of the diatomic molecular alignment in dissipative media, we are interested in the problem of optimal control, where the objective is to bring the system from an initial state into a given final state while minimizing a cost functional. The Pontryagin maximum principle (PMP) provides necessary conditions for optimality, by establishing that any optimal trajectory is the extremal solution of an extended problem of Hamiltonian structure. In this context, we perform the analysis of two particular systems. The first one is a dissipative 2-level system, for which we determine…

POSSIBLE INFLUENCES OF ARABIC WRITTEN LANGUAGE ON THE MATHEMATICAL THOUGHT

It’s known that the language is the voice of all citizens by which they express their feelings and thoughts and is a means of understanding between human beings despite the different languages between them. Each language has its own rules and principles of language mastery fluent to express and provides its information to others with ease. Is well known that the Arabs had a great quality of rhetoric and eloquence of language and at that time excelled in various sciences, thanks to their proficiency of the Arabic language, for example, the famous mathematicians ß…bir’…ibn ðay…n and Mu|ammed ’…ibn M™s… …l-³aw…rizmy and their great contributions to the science of mathematics and especially the…
