I compensi degli amministratori: analisi della disclosure nei bilanci delle società italiane quotate

2012

This paper analyses the disclosure on the directors’ remuneration, whose primary role in a company, makes their information of particular interest to different stakeholders. The authors’ aim is to investigate the official documents (for 2009) of the 50 most capitalized listed Italian companies, in order to verify the compulsory and/or voluntary disclosure provided about the remuneration paid to their directors. The findings will be summarized in a disclosure index whose correlation with some parameters (selected on the basis of specific research hypothesis) concerning board structure and company size will be assessed.

Shift-Invariant Canonical Polyadic Decomposition of Complex-Valued Multi-Subject fMRI Data with a Phase Sparsity Constraint

2020

Canonical polyadic decomposition (CPD) of multi-subject complex-valued fMRI data can be used to provide spatially and temporally shared components among groups with both magnitude and phase information. However, the CPD model is not well formulated due to the large subject variability in the spatial and temporal modalities, as well as the high noise level in complex-valued fMRI data. Considering that the shift-invariant CPD can model temporal variability across subjects, we propose to further impose a phase sparsity constraint on the shared spatial maps to denoise the complex-valued components and to model the inter-subject spatial variability as well. More precisely, subject-specific time …

Surrogate assisted interactive multiobjective optimization in energy system design of buildings

2022

In this paper, we develop a novel evolutionary interactive method called interactive K-RVEA, which is suitable for computationally expensive problems. We use surrogate models to replace the original expensive objective functions to reduce the computation time. Typically, in interactive methods, a decision maker provides some preferences iteratively and the optimization algorithm narrows the search according to those preferences. However, working with surrogate model swill introduce some inaccuracy to the preferences, and therefore, it would be desirable that the decision maker can work with the solutions that are evaluated with the original objective functions. Therefore, we propose a novel…

Evaluation of the primary stability in dental implants placed in low density bone with a new drilling technique, osseodensification: an in vitro study

2020

Background Primary stability is an important key determinant of implant osseointegration. We investigated approaches to improve primary implant stability using a new drilling technique termed osseodensification (OD), which was compared with the conventional under-drilling (UD) method utilized for low-density bones. Material and Methods We placed 55 conical internal connection implants in each group, in 30 low-density sections of pig tibia. The implants were placed using twist drill bits in both groups; groups Under Drilling (UD) and Osseodensification (OD) included bone sections subjected to conventional UD and OD drilling, respectively. Before placing the implants, we randomized the bone s…

The use of technological devices in English teaching as experienced by teachers

2017

Teknologiaa on käytetty osana opetusta jo vuosikymmenten ajan. Tekniikan kehitys ja saatavuus ovat kuitenkin muuttuneet laajalti vuosien aikana. Nykyään sekä koulun tarjoamat, että oppilaiden omat laitteet ovat vahvasti läsnä kielten opetuksessa. Laitteiden kirjo on moninaistunut uusien laitteiden myötä. Luokassa saattaa olla hyvin laaja kirjo erilaisia laitteita, joita opettaja voi hyödyntää osana opetustaan. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää tämän hetkistä tilannetta englannin opetuksessa yläkoulussa ja lukiossa. Tutkimus kartoittaa, minkälaisia laitteita opetuksessa käytetään, ja miksi. Lisäksi pyritään selvittämään millaisia hyötyjä ja haittoja teknologian käytöstä on vieraiden kie…

Współpraca z podopiecznymi, ich rodziną i szkołą w opiniach rodzinnych kuratorów sądowych

2016

Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of (E)-3-[(4-fluorobenzylidene)amino]-5-phenylthiazolidin-2-iminium bromide

2019

TARAMAPUBMED TARAMASCOPUS TARAMAWOS In the cation of the title salt, C16H15FN3S+·Br−, the phenyl ring is disordered over two sets of sites with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.503 (4):0.497 (4). The mean plane of the thiazolidine ring makes dihedral angles of 13.51 (14), 48.6 (3) and 76.5 (3)° with the fluorophenyl ring and the major- and minor-disorder components of the phenyl ring, respectively. The central thiazolidine ring adopts an envelope conformation. In the crystal, centrosymmetrically related cations and anions are linked into dimeric units via N—H...Br hydrogen bonds, which are further connected by weak C—H...Br hydrogen bonds into chains parallel to [110]. Species–area relationships in continuous vegetation: Evidence from Palaearctic grasslands

2019

Aim Species-area relationships (SARs) are fundamental scaling laws in ecology although their shape is still disputed. At larger areas, power laws best represent SARs. Yet, it remains unclear whether SARs follow other shapes at finer spatial grains in continuous vegetation. We asked which function describes SARs best at small grains and explored how sampling methodology or the environment influence SAR shape. Location Palaearctic grasslands and other non-forested habitats. Taxa Vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens. Methods We used the GrassPlot database, containing standardized vegetation-plot data from vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens spanning a wide range of grassland types throu…

System for Executing Encrypted Native Programs

2017

An important aspect of protecting software from attack, theft of algorithms, or illegal software use, is eliminating the possibility of performing reverse engineering. One common method to deal with these issues is code obfuscation. However, in most case it was shown to be ineffective. Code encryption is a much more effective means of defying reverse engineering, but it requires managing a secret key available to none but the permissible users. The authors propose a new and innovative solution. Critical functions in protected software are encrypted using well-known encryption algorithms. Following verification by external attestation, a thin hypervisor is used as the basis of an eco-system …
