Structures involving uncertainties in material and/or in geometrical parameters are referred to as uncertain structures. Reliability analysis of such structures strongly depends on variation of parameters and probabilistic approach is often used to characterize structural uncertainties. As for the single-pass single-row strip layout, several algorithms, based on established methods, have been proposed. Anti-tempered Layered Adaptive Importance Sampling

Monte Carlo (MC) methods are widely used for Bayesian inference in signal processing, machine learning and statistics. In this work, we introduce an adaptive importance sampler which mixes together the benefits of the Importance Sampling (IS) and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) approaches. Different parallel MCMC chains provide the location parameters of the proposal probability density functions (pdfs) used in an IS method. The MCMC algorithms consider a tempered version of the posterior distribution as invariant density. Solving dynamic memory allocation problems in embedded systems with parallel variable neighborhood search strategies

International audience; Embedded systems have become an essential part of our lives, thanks to their evolution in the recent years, but the main drawback is their power consumption. This paper is focused on improving the memory allocation of embedded systems to reduce their power consumption. We propose a parallel variable neighborhood search algorithm for the dynamic memory allocation problem, and compare it with the state of the art. Computational results and statistical tests applied show that the proposed algorithm produces significantly better outcomes than the previous algorithm in shorter computing time.

Non-stationarity tests and nonlinear trends

This paper stresses the importance of the hypothesis of linearity of the deterministic component imposed by unit root testing procedures most frequently used in empirical literature. We suggest an empirical testing strategy which reduces the risk of reaching false conclusions due to the misspecification of that component and we apply it to the analysis of the nonstationarity exhibited by real GNP in France. Temporal patterns in immune responses to a range of microbial insults (Tenebrio molitor).

However, the temporal nature of these responses with respect to different immune insults is less well understood. This study investigated the magnitude and temporal variation in phenoloxidase and antimicrobial activity in the mealworm beetle Tenebrio molitor in response to a number of different synthetic and real immune elicitors. We found that antimicrobial activity in haemolymph increased rapidly during the first 48h after a challenge and was maintained at high levels for at least 14 days. During 2017, digital audio broadcasting (DAB) replaces frequency modulation (FM) broadcasting and becomes the only technology for national terrestrial audio broadcasting services in Norway. As Norway is the first country that replaces FM completely with DAB, it is of great importance to measure the signal strength of such a technology in massive deployments and to tune a simulation model as a reference for future studies.
