A Mössbauer study of the crystalline structure of the passive film formed on iron in aqueous sulfate solution containing sulfite in low concentration

1993

Electrochemically induced passivation of evaporated, enriched 57Fe in 0.5 mol dm−3 Na2SO4 + 0.001 mol dm−3 NaHSO3 aqueous solution (pH 6.5) was followed by conversion electron Mossbauer spectroscopy. The transformation of amorphous iron oxide or hydroxide into crystalline γ-FeOOH could be observed with the increase of the polarization time. The comparison of the original quantity of evaporated, enriched 57Fe layer on the surface of the samples with the dissolved iron, measured in the solutions after the polarization, proved the existence of pitting corrosion at this pH.

FIA-Fluorimetric assembly for the determination of noradrenaline hydrochloride by a solid-phase reactor with immobilized hexacyanoferrate(III)

1997

An FIA assembly provided with immobilized hexacyanoferrate(III) is proposed for the fluorimetric determination of noradrenaline hydrochloride. The oxidative reagent is immobilized by means of a strong anion-exchange resin. The FIA manifold is very simple and the calibration graph is linear over the range 0.5–75mgl−1 noradrenaline hydrochloride with an r.s.d of 0.88% (17 replicates) and a sample throughput of 84h−1. Foreign compounds such as NaCl, sucrose, lactose and sodium sulfate caused no significant errors. The procedure is applied to the determination of noradrenaline in a medicinal formulation.

Synthesis and characterization of a new Organic – Inorganic sulfate (C5H6N2O)2[Co(H2O)6]3(SO4)4.2H2O

2014

crystals of a new hybrid compound, (C 5 H 6 N 2 O) 2 [Co(H 2 O) 6 ] 3 (SO 4 ) 4 .2H 2 O, were synthesized in aqueous solution and characterized. This compound crystallizes in the triclinic system with the space group P-1, the unit cell :a=6.632(3) A, b=11.769(5) A, c=14.210(6) A, α=67.86(4)°, β=81.32(4)°, γ=85.18(4)° and V=1015.14(8) A 3 . Its crystal structure can be described as a packing of alternated inorganic and organic layers. The different components are connected by a three-dimensional network of O-H…O and N-H…O hydrogen bonds.

Influence of synthesis conditions on the morphology of Dodecasil 1H

1993

Abstract The synthesis of Dodecasil 1H was studied in the system SiO2/1-adamantylamin/NH3/water with the objective of controlling the particle size and the morphology of the crystals. Since nucleation occurs in a very early stage of the synthesis, the heating rate to the final temperature and/or holding points during heat up have a strong influence on both parameters. Crystals smaller than 150 μm could only be obtained by the use of seed crystals, which are completely consumed in the synthesis with subsequent new nucleation. Using seed crystals, the expensive template 1-adamantylamine can be substituted with cheaper reagents such as sodium dodecyl sulfate or trimethylethylammonium bromide a…

ChemInform Abstract: Aryl Radicals by Copper(II) Oxidation of Hydrazines: A New Method for the Oxidative and Reductive Arylation of Alkenes.

1990

Abstract A new source of aryl radicals interesting from the preparative point of view has been found in the reaction of arylhydrazines and copper(II) sulfate. The process allows selectively both the reductive and oxidative arylation of alkenes.

1,4,8,11-Tetrakis(4-ferrocenyl-3-azabutyl)-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane as a ferrocene-functionalised polyammonium receptor for electrochemical …

1999

The interaction of the ferrocene-functionalised polyaza receptor 1,4,8,11-tetrakis(4-ferrocenyl-3-azabutyl)-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (L1) with sulfate, phosphate and ATP has been studied potentiometrically in THF–water 70∶30 v/v (0.1 mol dm–3 tetrabutylammonium perchlorate, 25 °C). The molecular structure of the free receptor has been determined by single-crystal X-ray procedures. An electrochemical study on L1 as a function of the pH has been carried out in THF–water 70∶30 v/v in the presence of the sulfate, phosphate and ATP anions. The potential use of L1 as an anion sensing receptor is discussed in terms of the electrochemical and potentiometric data and its behaviour is compar…

Heparan sulfate levels in mucopolysaccharidoses and mucolipidoses.

2004

Glycosaminoglycans are accumulated in both mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) and mucolipidoses (ML). MPS I, II, III and VII and ML II and ML III patients cannot properly degrade heparan sulphate (HS). In spite of the importance of HS storage in the metabolic pathway in these diseases, blood and urine HS levels have not been determined systematically using a simple and economical method. Using a new ELISA method using anti-HS antibodies, HS concentrations in blood and urine were determined in MPS and ML II and ML III patients. HS concentrations were determined in 156 plasma samples from MPS I (n = 23), MPS II (n = 26), MPS III (n = 24), MPS IV (n = 62), MPS VI (n = 5), MPS VII (n = 5), ML II (n = …

6-Amino-2-iminiumyl-4-oxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidin-5-aminium sulfate monohydrate

2019

The title compound, C4H9N5O2+·SO4 2−·H2O, is the monohydrate of the commercially available compound `C4H7N5O·H2SO4·xH2O'. It is obtained by reprecipitation of C4H7N5O·H2SO4·xH2O from dilute sodium hydroxide solution with dilute sulfuric acid. The crystal structure of anhydrous 2,4,5-triamino-1,6-dihydropyrimidin-6-one sulfate is known, although called by the authors 5-amminium-6-amino-isocytosinium sulfate [Bieri et al. (1993). Private communication (refcode HACDEU). CCDC, Cambridge, England]. In the structure, the sulfate group is deprotonated, whereas one of the amino groups is protonated (R 2C—NH3 +) and one is rearranged to a protonated imine group (R 2C=NH2 +). This arrangement is very…
