ChemInform Abstract: 1,6-π-Electrocyclization of 3-Vinyl-Functionalized N,N′-Dimethyl-2,2′-bisindolyl: Some Analysis of the Educt Transformation Proc…
2010
The thermally and photochemically induced 1,6-π-electrocyclization reaction of 3-vinyl-functionalized N, N'-dimethyl-2,2′-bisindolyls 4 has been analysed and some reactivity aspects are presented. On the basis of time dependent 1H nmr and uv spectroscopic measurements the educt transformations can be observed in detail. Some results of the isomerization process of the educts are also given.
Influence of Micromixing on Microorganisms and Products
2001
The influence of mixing intensity as well as physical and chemical parameters on the cells of different microorganisms and the biosynthesis process is examined in this paper. Some reactions of cells effecting mixing intensity are described, such as retarded biomass growth, changes in aggregation and mutual arrangement of cells, morphological changes of cells and decreasing of biological activity, caused by an increased intensity of turbulence (turbohypobiosis). Several methods for investigating the local energy in reactors are compared. It is concluded that conventional methods of hydrodynamic analysis do not always allow valid results for the optimization of the mixing regime to be obtaine…
The importance of incorporating a waste detoxification step in analytical methodologies
2015
The introduction of a waste detoxification step in the analytical process was highlighted using, as example, the determination of copper in pesticide formulations using electrogravimetry, flame atomic absorption spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy. This quantitative study showed the improvement of the previously mentioned analytical methods, from a green perspective, after addition of electrodeposition or neutralization steps to the analytical process. Based on this, the application of the eco-scale and the Green Certificate to the evaluation of these methodologies allows the method to be moved from the B and C classes to the A class.
High-resolution pyrolysis–gas chromatography with a movable reaction zone
1997
Abstract A new device was constructed for pyrolysis–gas chromatography and it was laboratory tested. The device enables the thermal degradation of polymers inside a capillary pre-column and transfer of the reaction zone into a column oven. The pyrolysis procedure described protects the thermally sensitive compounds prior to pyrolysis, prevents the process of irreversible condensation of high-boiling pyrolysis products during the chromatographic process and eliminates extracolumn effects on the peak broadening.
Sistema de monitorización en continuo a tiempo real de la concentración de oxígeno durante el batido para la producción de aceite de oliva virgen
2012
During the mechanical extraction process of Virgin Olive Oil (VOO) some important physical phenomena and enzymatic transformations occur which influence the quality of the final product. The control of process parameters is crucial to ensure the quality of VOO, therefore process monitoring and control is a fundamental requirement in the modern VOO processing industry. The present work proposes an innovative Real-Time Monitoring System (RTMS) aimed at continuously measuring the oxygen concentration during the malaxation process in order to establish a correlation with the quality of the final product obtained. This monitoring system is based on an oxygen concentration sensor directly connect…
Warming of water in a glass
2016
The article focuses on the process of water warming from 0 °C in a glass. An experiment is performed that analyses the temperature in the top and bottom layers of water during warming. The experimental equipment is very simple and can be easily set up using devices available in schools. The temperature curves obtained from the experiment help us to understand the process of convection in the glass and to determine the temperature at which the density of water is maximum. In addition, computational fluid dynamics—CFD modeling is carried out to facilitate better comprehension of the phenomenon observed in the experiment.
Differences in Technical Development and Playing Space in Three UEFA Champions Leagues
2021
[Abstract] The analysis of football grows exponentially, with many researchers adopting it as an object of study. The thematic range that addresses it, as well as the different methodologies used, are of a very different nature—physical, psychological, technical, tactical—enriching every day the knowledge, and understanding of the game itself. The objective of this study has been to identify the differences between the different styles of play that lead to becoming the champion of the UEFA Champions League in the last 3 years of the pre-COVID stage, by analyzing the spatial performance developed, the association between the players that make up the different lines of the game system and the…
Two-Step Crystallization Kinetics in Colloidal Hard-Sphere Systems
2005
The crystallization kinetics of colloidal hard spheres was studied using a special Bragg spectrometer with high sensitivity. In contrast with the classical scenario we observe a two-step nucleation process: the number of crystallites increases slowly at early times, followed by a dramatic reduction at intermediate times, prior to undergoing a rapid increase at late times. We explain these results in terms of a polydispersity limited growth of crystallites, where the crystallization at early times is governed by local fractionation processes, leading to a long delay prior to final crystallization.
Identification of Explanatory Variables in Possession of the Ball in High-Performance Women’s Football
2021
[Abstrac] Women’s football is a phenomenon that is experiencing an unstoppable increase in recent years. The objective of this study was to analyze how ball possessions are performed in highperformance women’s football. For this, the 52 matches played by all the national teams participating in the Women’s World Cup 2015 were analyzed. A total of 3740 ball possessions were examined. Using the “move outcome” variable as a reference criterion, a statistically significant relationship was found between possessions that ended in success and possessions that have failed. Specifically, the successful possessions were those that were made in the offensive zone, with a clear intention to progress to…
Batch fermentation process: Modelling and direct sensitivity analysis
2009
Based on a nonlinear model, this article realizes an investigation of dynamic behaviour of a batch fermentation process using direct sensitivity analysis (DSA). The used nonlinear mathematical model has a good qualitative and quantitative description of the alcoholic fermentation process. This model has been discussed and validated by authors in other studies. The DSA of dynamic model was used to calculate the matrix of the sensitivity functions in order to determine the influence of the small deviations of initial state, control inputs, and parameters from the ideal nominal values on the state trajectory and system output in time. Process optimization and advanced control strategies can be…
