Applying Affordances Scale as a Design Method : Case Virtual Reality Course Design

Practitioners including designers and teachers developing Virtual Reality (VR) courses are facing a question regarding the strengths and subject areas in which VR-enriched courses might have the highest potential compared to conventional courses. The present study develops a survey scale to assess and match industry managers’ requirements for skills for working life. The same scale was surveyed among two different groups of higher education students participating in conventional courses and a VR-aided course. Face and Content Validity of the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Water Competence in Young Children

An international group of experts have developed a pictorial tool to measure perceived water competence for children aged from 5 to 8 years old: the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Water Competence (PSPWC). The aim of the present study was to verify the validity of this tool. In the first part of the study, 120 children were interviewed to investigate face validity of the PSPWC to ensure that all pictorial items were understandable. The aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between enjoyment, perceived competence, fundamental movement skills, and physical activity engagement of Grade 7 students participating in Finnish physical education. Artikkelissa kuvaamme lyhyesti suomalaisen viittomakielen taitotasokuvainten ja arviointikriteereiden kehittämistä ja siihen liittyvää validointiprosessia Soveltavan kielentutkimuksen keskuksessa. Suomalaisessa viittomakielessä ei aiemmin ole ollut yhtenäisiä, teoreettisesti määriteltyjä kuvauksia viittomakielen taidon kehittymisestä. Prezentēšanas prasme skolēniem nav iepriekš attīstīta, taču “Skola 2030” plānotajos sasniedzamajos rezultātos norādīts, ka skolēnam ir jāprot pastāstīt par darba procesu, izaicinājumiem un idejas rašanos. La ricerca «Telemaco» è stata svolta per promuovere una partecipazione attiva e responsabile degli studenti universitari alla didattica universitaria. A tal fine, si è ritenuto opportuno preparare tale partecipazione mediante l’applicazione di due metodi d’intervento con cui migliorare il loro senso di autoefficacia, la loro capacità di gestire l’ansia da prestazione e l’immagine del loro «sé» attuale: la scrittura espressiva e il tutoraggio tra pari. I risultati dimostrano l’efficacia di questi due metodi sulle tre competenze prese in esame.
