Reaching professional skills with the Final Master Thesis: Collaboration towards actual solutions

[EN] In order to motivate the student through a professional experience, and to improve the teaching-learning process by letting the student gain experience, we implement a collaborative learning-through-service methodology. This method increases the student involvement level and the deep understanding of the tools. As a matter of example, we present the implementation of this method in the Final Master Thesis (FMTh) of the Master on Corporate Finance at the University of Valencia (UV). Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) without intellectual disability (ID) represent approximately two-thirds of the ASD population. Here we focused on prospective research assessing different areas of functioning of children with ASD, without ID, until adolescence. Based on a pre-registered protocol (PROSPERO CRD42020189029), a systematic review of prospective studies (published between 01.01.2010 and 01.01.2020) was conducted. Twenty-eight studies met eligibility criteria. Findings indicated that ASD diagnosis and the Intelligence Quotient were highly stable over time across studies. Association of developmental coordination disorder and low motor competence with impaired bone health: A systematic review.

Aims Individuals with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) and low motor competence (LMC) may be at increased risk of low bone health due to their lifetime physical activity patterns. Impaired bone health increases an individual’s risk of osteoporosis and fracture; therefore, it is necessary to determine whether a bone health detriment is present in this group. Exploring the reciprocal modulation of time and space in dancers and non-dancers.

We explored whether time and space representations modulate each other in subjects that are trained to integrate time and space dimensions, i.e., professional dancers. A group of dancers, and one of non-dancers, underwent two different tasks employing identical stimuli. A first static central line could last one of three possible durations and could have one of three possible lengths. A second growing line appeared from the left or right of the screen and grew up toward the opposite direction at constant velocity. In the Spatial task, subjects encoded the length of the static line and stopped the growing line when it had reached half the length of the static one, regardless of time travel. …

Nurses' self-reflection via videotaping to improve communication skills in health counseling.

Abstract The purpose of this qualitative research was to describe nurses' opinions of their communication skills in health counseling situations and to analyze the levels of reflectivity in their evaluations according to Mezirow. Nineteen nurses participated in the research on a voluntary basis and evaluated their interaction with patients on video on two occasions half a year apart. Nurses gave verbal feedback in an interview immediately after videotaping, after which they read education materials, watched their counseling on video and wrote an evaluation of their communication skills. The Effect of Nitrazepam on Manual Skill, Grip Strength, and Reaction Time with Special Reference to Subjective Evaluation of Effects on Sleep

The effects of 5 and 10 mg oral nitrazepam doses on manual skills, grip strength, and reaction time 8 hours after ingestion of the drugs were studied in 34 healthy female volunteers aged 19-22 years. 5 mg nitrazepam caused a slight but insignificant decrease in psychomotor skills. With 10 mg psychomotor skills were influenced significantly. Grip strength and reaction time were not influenced either by the 5 or 10 mg doses. The paper presents rationale and technique of a psychodynamic online intervention discussing therapeutic process and alliance based on two case examples from an RCT.A weekly writing task is followed by individual feedback from the online therapist. Selecting one of two regular sound sequences : Perceptual and motor effects of tempo

This study assessed the influence of tempo on selecting a sound sequence. In Exp. 1, synchronization with one of the two regular subsequences in a complex sequence was measured. 30 participants indicated a preference for the fastest subsequence when subsequences were in a slow tempo range (≥ 500 msec. IOI), and with the slower subsequence when they were in the fast tempo range (≤ 300 msec. IOI). These results were replicated using a perceptual task (Exp. 2 and 3) in which the 30 listeners had to detect a temporal irregularity in one of the two subsequences.
