Liquid chromatography–electrospray quadrupole ion-trap mass spectrometry of nine pesticides in fruits

2004

A liquid chromatographic method, with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS-MS), has been developed for determining acrinathrin, carbosulfan, cyproconazole, lambda-cyhalothrin, kresoxim methyl, pyrifenox, pyriproxyfen, propanil, and tebufenpyrad in fruits. The ions prominent in ESI spectra were [M + H]+ and [M + Na]+. In the mass analyzer, collision-induced dissociation fragmentation involved common pathways, for example, product ions of [M + H]+ resulted from the cleavage of the carbamic group or an oxygen bound. The utility of the method is demonstrated by the analysis of crude extracts obtained by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) using C18 as dispersant and dich…

Antibacterial effect of the bioactive compound beauvericin produced by Fusarium proliferatum on solid medium of wheat.

2010

To obtain the bioactive compound beauvericin (BEA), Fusarium proliferatum CECT 20569 was grown on a solid medium of wheat, utilizing the technique of the solid state fermentation (SSF), being this mycotoxin purified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with a reverse phase semi-preparative column using as the mobile phase acetonitrile/water in gradient condition. The purity of the BEA was verified by analytical HPLC and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS). The pure fractions of BEA were utilized to determinate the antibiotic effects on several bacterial strains that are considered normally pathogens of the intestinal tract as: Escherichia coli, Enterococcus…

Synthesis, electrochemical and theoretical studies of the Au(i)-Cu(i) heterometallic clusters bearing ferrocenyl groups

2009

Treatment of the polymeric alkynyl compounds (AuC2R)n (R = Fc, C6H4Fc; Fc = ferrocenyl) with the diphosphine PPh2C6H4PPh2 gave complexes (RC2Au)PPh2C6H4PPh2(AuC2R) (1, R = Fc; 2, R = C6H4Fc) with end-capped ferrocenyl groups. The reactions of 1 or 2 with Cu(NCMe)4PF6 result in formation of the heterotrimetallic aggregates [{Au3Cu2(C2R)6}Au3(PPh2C6H4PPh2)3](PF6)2 (3, R = Fc; 4, R = C6H4Fc), which consist of the alkynyl clusters [Au3Cu2(C2R)6]−“wrapped” by the cationic [Au3(PPh2C6H4PPh2)3]3+“belt”. The novel compounds were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and ESI-MS measurements. The solid state structure of 3 is reported. Electrochemical properties of the complexes 1–4 have been studied. Th…

Rovibrational spectroscopy of ethylene : Stark effect : Application to ethylene in zeolites

2010

The objective of this report is to present a study as complete as possible of the Stark effect in the asymmetric top molecules of X2Y4 type possessing the D2h symmetry group and to apply it to the problem of the spectroscopy of the ethylene molecule trapped in a zeolite. For the first time, a tensorial formalism adapted to the study of the Stark effect for the O(3) D2h group chain was developed. In parallel, a computer package was worked out as a new generation of software called D2hTDS-ST using a simpler basis, allowing an economy in the calculation time. On the basis of the theoretical and computing tools as well as from the experimental spectra, recorded in the laboratory, we made a firs…

CliffoSor: A Parallel Embedded Architecture for Geometric Algebra and Computer Graphics

2006

Geometric object representation and their transformations are the two key aspects in computer graphics applications. Traditionally, compute-intensive matrix calculations are involved to model and render 3D scenery. Geometric algebra (a.k.a. Clifford algebra) is gaining growing attention for its natural way to model geometric facts coupled with its being a powerful analytical tool for symbolic calculations. In this paper, the architecture of CliffoSor (Clifford Processor) is introduced. ClifforSor is an embedded parallel coprocessing core that offers direct hardware support to Clifford algebra operators. A prototype implementation on an FPGA board is detailed. Initial test results show more …

Crystalline nanorods as possible templates for the synthesis of amorphous biosilica during spicule formation in Demospongiae.

2009

In tandem: High-resolution TEM shows that during the initial stages of demosponge spicule formation, a primordial crystalline structure is formed within the axial filament. The recently developed electron diffraction tomography technique (ADT) reveals that the nanorods have a layered structure that matches smectitic phyllosilicates. These intracellular nanorods have been considered as precursors of mature spicules. Magnetic Ordering and Spin Dynamics of Ba1-xEuxSi Phases

2011

We have investigated the magnetic ordering and spin dynamics of the solid solution series Ba1–xEuxSi with 0 < x ≤ 1 applying X-ray diffraction, electric conductivity measurements, Mossbauer spectroscopy, muon spin depolarization, and neutron diffraction. Our results suggest a spin glass-like behavior of Ba1–xEuxSi for concentrations close to x = 0.3 exist. Different spin ordering phenomena are found, which are dependent on the relative europium concentrations.

Raman spectroscopy of the high- and low-spin states of the spin crossover complex Fe(phen)2(NCS)2: an initial approach to estimation of vibrational c…

2000

Abstract Raman spectra of the spin-crossover complex Fe(phen)2(NCS)2 in the solid state have been recorded at 785 nm as a function of temperature to investigate the contribution of intramolecular vibrations to the entropy change, ΔS, associated with spin crossover. The modes of major interest for estimating the contribution lie in the range 100–500 cm−1, where the largest qualitative changes with temperature in the Raman spectra were observed. Analysis of these data, with the working assumption of an average frequency in this range as representative of the 15 distortion modes of an idealised FeN6 octahedron, leads to the conclusion that the intramolecular vibrations represent a primary cont…

Application of the theory of naturally curved and twisted bars to designing Gorlov's helical turbine 1. System of governing equations

1998

The method of designing a new type of turbine used in flows of various kinds is discussed. Static, kinematic, and constitutive equations for transversely isotropic naturally curved and twisted bars are given, and the hypotheses used are discussed. The statement of the problem is linear and corresponds to small displacements. A method for solving the statically indeterminate problem is proposed. The objectives of numerical calculations, which will comprise the content of the second part of the investigation, are formulated.
