Prefolded Synthetic G-Quartets Display Enhanced Bioinspired Properties

2016

International audience; A water-soluble template-assembled synthetic G-quartet (TASQ) based on the use of a macrocyclodecapeptide scaffold was designed to display stable intramolecular folds alone in solution. The preformation of the guanine quartet, demonstrated by NMR and CD investigations, results in enhanced peroxidase-type biocatalytic activities and improved quadruplex-interacting properties. Comparison of its DNAzyme-boosting properties with the ones of previously published TASQ revealed that, nowadays, it is the best DNAzyme-boosting agent.

The human meibomian gland epithelial cell line as a model to study meibomian gland dysfunction

2016

The meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) is the leading cause of dry eye disease (DED) throughout the world. The investigation of MGD lacks suitable in vivo and in vitro models. In 2010 a human meibomian gland epithelial cell line (HMGEC) was established, so far the only available meibomian gland cell line. The characterization of HMGEC is of major importance to clarify its suitability for studying the meibomian gland (patho)physiology in vitro. The current culture protocol and new concepts of HMGEC culture will be compared. Hormones are believed to be a key factor in meibomian gland dysfunction thus HMGEC responsiveness to hormone stimulation is crucial to elucidate the hormonal influence on …

Fishing for G-quadruplexes in solution with a perylene diimide derivative labeled with biotins

2018

A new fluorescent, non‐cytotoxic perylene diimide derivative with two biotins at the peri position, PDI2B, has been synthesized. This molecule is able to interact selectively with G‐quadruplexes with scarce or no affinity towards single‐ or double‐stranded DNA. These features have made it possible to design a simple, effective, safe, cheap, and selective method for fishing G‐quadruplex structures in solution by use of PDI2B and streptavidin coated magnetic beads. The new cyclic method reported leads to the recovery of more than 80 % of G‐quadruplex structures from solution, even in the presence of an excess of single‐stranded or duplex DNA as competitors. Moreover, PDI2B is a G4 ligand that…

Evaluation of the Ocular Tolerance of Three Tacrolimus Topical Pharmaceutical Preparations by Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Test.

2015

Tacrolimus ocular preparations are commonly employed in autoimmune or inflammatory ocular disorders. However, currently there are not yet approved ocular formulations. Tacrolimus ocular side effects have been reported in clinical use, so the evaluation of different pharmaceutical preparations is mandatory. In this study, the local corneal tolerance and safety profile of three common tacrolimus 0.03% pharmaceutical preparations were evaluated.Corneal irritation and permeability of tacrolimus preparations were evaluated with the bovine corneal opacity and permeability (BCOP) test. Complementary corneal hematoxylin/eosin and immunohistochemistry staining for tight junctions and adherent juncti…

Exact solution of the soft-clustered vehicle-routing problem

2020

Abstract The soft-clustered vehicle-routing problem (SoftCluVRP) extends the classical capacitated vehicle-routing problem by one additional constraint: The customers are partitioned into clusters and feasible routes must respect the soft-cluster constraint, that is, all customers of the same cluster must be served by the same vehicle. In this article, we design and analyze different branch-and-price algorithms for the exact solution of the SoftCluVRP. The algorithms differ in the way the column-generation subproblem, a variant of the shortest-path problem with resource constraints (SPPRC), is solved. The standard approach for SPPRCs is based on dynamic-programming labeling algorithms. We s…

Cuestiones varias en torno a la determinación de la filiación por doble paternidad

2018

The article 7.3 of the law 14/2006, of May 26 on technologies of human assisted reproduction establishes the possibility of determining legally the double maternity of married women and not separated legally or of fact, when the not biological mother consents that filiation decides to his favor the respect of the born son of his spouse. In the suppositions not regulated in the mentioned rule the Supreme Court in relation with equal women?s homosexuality in judgment of December 5, 2013 and January 15, 2014 applies the civil code and allows to determine judicially the maternity by means of the exercise of an action of claim for possession of status foreseen in the article 131. In the present …

Solutions of the LPD equation and multi-parametric rogue waves

2022

Quasi-rational solutions to the Lakshmanan Porsezian Daniel equation are presented. We construct explicit expressions of these solutions for the first orders depending on real parameters. We study the patterns of these configurations in the (x, t) plane in function of the different parameters. We observe in the case of order 2, three rogue waves which move according to the two parameters. In the case of order 3, six rogue waves are observed with specific configurations moving according to the four parameters.

From particular polynomials to rational solutions to the mKdV equation

2022

Rational solutions to the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation are given in terms of a quotient of determinants involving certain particular polynomials. This gives a very efficient method to construct solutions. We construct very easily explicit expressions of these rational solutions for the first orders n = 1 until 10.

N order solutions with multi-parameters to the Boussinesq and KP equations and the degenerate rational case

2021

From elementary exponential functions which depend on several parameters, we construct multi-parametric solutions to the Boussinesq equation. When we perform a passage to the limit when one of these parameters goes to 0, we get rational solutions as a quotient of a polynomial of degree N (N + 1) − 2 in x and t, by a polynomial of degree N (N + 1) in x and t for each positive integer N depending on 3N parameters. We restrict ourself to give the explicit expressions of these rational solutions for N = 1 until N = 3 to shortened the paper. We easily deduce the corresponding explicit rational solutions to the Kadomtsev Petviashvili equation for the same orders from 1 to 3.
