Studies on some antimony(III) complexes with tridentate schiff base ligands
1981
Abstract The antimony(III) complexes FSb(Sab), ClSb(Sab) and ClSb(Sat) containing dianonic, potentially tridentate Schiff-base ligands with ONO(Sab 2− ) and ONS(Sat 2− ) donor atoms have been prepared and characterized. The mass spectra of these derivatives are reported. The occurrence of chelation by the tridentate ligand is inferred from the infrared data. The antimony-121 Mossbauer parameters at 4.2 K are reported. The magnitudes and the positive sign of eQV zz suggest a consistent p-character of the antimony lone-pair orbital. Observed differencies in the isomer shift and eQV zz values are discussed on the basis of the likely distribution of electron density around antimony.

Rotational spectra of gauche perfluoro-n-butane, C4F10; perfluoro-iso-butane, (CF3)3CF; and tris(trifluoromethyl)methane, (CF3)3CH
2007
Abstract The microwave spectra of the gauche conformer of perfluoro- n -butane, n -C 4 F 10 , of perfluoro- iso -butane, (CF 3 ) 3 CF, and of tris(trifluoromethyl)methane, (CF 3 ) 3 CH, have been observed and assigned. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants for gauche n -C 4 F 10 are: A = 1058.11750(7) MHz, B = 617.6832(1) MHz, C = 552.18794(1) MHz, Δ J = 0.0257(5) kHz, δ J = 0.0052(3) kHz. A C–C–C–C dihedral angle, ω , of ∼55° has been determined. These values agree well with those obtained from a coupled cluster (CCSD/cc-PVTZ) calculation. The rotational and centrifugal distortion constants for iso -C 4 F 10 and iso -C 4 HF 9 are: B o = 816.4519(4) MHz, D J = 0.023(2) …
Hyperfine couplings ofN-alkoxy-N-polynitrophenylaminyl radicals determined by ENDOR and TRIPLE resonance spectroscopy
1995
Lead tetraacetate one-electron oxidation of nine different N-alkoxy-2,6-dinitroanilines substituted with trifluoromethyl, methyl and nitro groups in position 4 yielded aminyl radicals for which hyperfine couplings were measured by ENDOR and TRIPLE resonance spectroscopy. The optimum temperature range for proton ENDOR and general TRIPLE resonance measurements of aminyl radicals was 210–250 K and for nitrogen ENDOR 260 K in toluene. Further lowering for the temperature rapidly decreased the EPR intensity. The concentration of the sample and the amount of oxidant were optimized for obtaining ENDOR spectra. The relative signs of the hyperfine couplings of nitrogens, fluorines and protons were d…
New nitrene functionalizations onto sidewalls of carbon nanotubes and their spectroscopic analysis
2010
Abstract The reactivity of p -toluenesulfonyl, methylsulfonyl and trimethylsilyl nitrene, derived from the corresponding azides, was studied towards single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) prepared by electric arc or HiPCO (High-pressure CO conversion) methods. The functionalized SWCNTs were analyzed by Raman, IR, and VIS/NIR spectroscopy. The spectroscopic results indicated that covalent modification of the SWCNTs was successful. While the IR measurements gave evidence of successful reaction in all studied cases, the Raman measurements indicated differences in the reactivity of the two tube types and between different nitrenes. VIS/NIR spectrum was measured for reaction with p -toluenesulfo…
Effect of tin and lead chlorotriphenyl analogues on fruit fly Drosophila hydei and liposomes membrane
2011
This article presents the results of a study investigating the biological activity of triphenyltin chloride (TPhT) and two metalloorganic compounds, triphenyllead chloride (TPhL) and triphenylmethane chloride (TPhC), in their interaction with model membranes and the living organisms of fruit flies Drosophila hydei. The study of model membranes (sonicated liposomes) was conducted using the electron spin resonance (ESR) spin probe technique, whereas the experiment on fruit flies involved investigating their viability on media containing the studied compounds. The test results clearly demonstrate that TPhT affects fruit flies more actively than TPhL (complete lethality after 7 days of culture …
Effect of Chlorotriphenyl Derivatives of Sn and Pb upon Biophysical Properties of Membranes
2009
Biophysical activity of two twin organometallic compounds Triphenyltin chloride (TPhT) and Triphenyllead chloride (TPhL) in their interreaction with model membranes, as well as with yeast cellsSaccharomyces cerevisiae, was investigated. Four measurement methods were used in the experiments: two physical methods (spin probes method and the electric method); two biological methods (minimal inhibitory concentration /MIC/ and yeast survival test). It has been found that the activity of TPhT in interaction with model membranes and yeast cells is distinctly greater than that of TPhL. The activity manifests itself by considerable increase in the fluidity of the middle part of liposome bilayer, cha…
Synthesis of the Glycopeptide Partial Sequence A80-A84 of Human Fibroblast Interferon
1985
The glycopentapeptide H-(GlcNAcβ1-)Asn-Glu-Thr-Ile-Val-OH (10) representing the partial sequence A80–A84 of human fibroblast interferon was synthesized using the newly developed allyl-ester protection of carboxy functions. The allyl esters, which are stable to acids and to bases, can be cleaved under very mild, neutral conditions using tris(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(I) chloride or tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) as a catalyst. This synthetic method opens up a preparative route to glycopeptide model structures of glycoproteins of high biological interest.
Insights of Tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine as anti-tumor agent for osteosarcoma: experimental and in silico studies
2021
Abstract Osteosarcoma (OS) is a malignant bone tumor and its occurrence is associated with high levels of microRNAs (miRNAs) and critical protein sinvolved on intracellular signaling pathways. Cisplatin and Doxorubicin are employed on chemotherapy, but their use cause side effects and contributes to multidrug resistance. Since several tripodal amines have been studied as anticancer agents, tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine (TPA) was investigated against osteosarcoma cells. Here we show that TPA exhibits activity against MG-63 and Saos-2 cells. Cyclic voltammetry results indicate an interaction between TPA and dsDNA, denoted by blocking of the proton-assisted reduction of the 2-pyridylmethyl moiety…
Combination of single-molecule magnet behaviour and luminescence properties in a new series of lanthanide complexes with tris(pyrazolyl)borate and ol…
2020
A series of tris(pyrazolyl)borate mono-, di- and trinuclear complexes, [Tp2Ln]nX (Ln = Eu, Tb, Gd, Dy, Xn− = various mono-, bis- and tris(β-diketonates) has been prepared. The Tb3+ and Dy3+ complexes are luminescent single molecular magnets (SMM) and exhibit luminescence quantum efficiencies up to 73% for the Tb3+ and 4.4% for the Dy3+ compounds. Similar Eu3+ complexes display bright emission only at lower temperatures. The Dy3+ and Tb3+ complexes possess SMM behavior in a non-zero dc field at low temperatures, while the polynuclear Dy3+ complexes also show slow magnetic relaxation even in zero dc field up to 8 K. Ueff-values determined from dynamic magnetic measurements were up to 31 and 6…
