La recherche en Management du Sport en « francophonie » : L’avènement d’un écosystème
2021
This paper aims to synthesize research on the Management of Sports Organizations (MOS) in France. Three parts structure this voluntarily simplifying contribution, very personal and collective at the same time through the direct and indirect contributions of many researchers. First of all, two historical parts between the 1960s and the 2000s provide a first disciplinary and then thematic perspective in order to make a French-speaking retrospective of the dynamics of scientific production. A last part in the form of a conclusion and an opening seeks to characterize the recent dynamics of MOS research (specialization, interaction, diversification) according to disciplines and/or objects of stu…

Implementation of a global P-recovery system in urban wastewater treatment plants
2019
[EN] Current wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) paradigm is moving towards the so-called water resource recovery facilities in which sewage is considered a source of valuable resources. In particular, urban WWTPs are crucial systems to enhance phosphorus (P) recycling. This paper evaluates the implementation of a P-recovery system in Calahorra WWTP combining the operation of a new sludge line configuration coupled to a struvite crystallisation reactor at demonstration-scale. This new configuration consisted in the elutriation in the gravity thickener of the mixed sludge contained in the mixing chamber in order to reduce the phosphate load to the anaerobic digestion. The results indicated t…
Not all bull and bear markets are alike: insights from a five-state hidden semi-Markov model
2022
This paper employs the hidden semi-Markov model and a novel model selection procedure to detect different states in the US stock market. The empirical results suggest that the market is switching between five states that can be classified into three bull states and two bear states. The three bull states are categorized as a low volatility bull market, a high volatility bull market, and a stock market bubble. One of the bear states represents a regular bear market, while the other one corresponds to either a stock market crash or a market correction. The paper demonstrates that the five-state model is consistent with a number of stylized facts and provides many valuable insights into the dyn…
The relationship between interdisciplinarity and distinct modes of university-industry interaction
2019
Abstract Interdisciplinary research (IDR) has raised increasing expectations among scholars and policymakers about its potential to produce ground-breaking scientific contributions and satisfy societal demands. While existing research highlights that novel connections across fields is beneficial for scientific contributions with high academic impact, comparatively less is known about whether IDR is positively associated to scientists’ engagement with non-academic actors. To investigate this, we examine whether there is a systematic relationship between scientists’ IDR-orientation and their interactions with industry. We conceptually distinguish four stylized modes of interaction (firm creat…
Determinants of user behaviour and recommendation in social networks
2014
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to analyse the determinants of social network use behaviour using Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and Uses and Gratifications Theory. Design/methodology/approach – A quantitative study was carried out with data gathered by personal interview using a structured questionnaire. Relationships proposed in the theoretical model were estimated through structural equation models. In total, 811 users of social networks over 14 and residents in Spain were part of the sample. Findings – Results indicate that use attitude and the subjective norm, both TPB variables, directly and significantly influence social network loyalty. Thus, network loyalty can be achiev…
Key drivers of consumer purchase of airline tickets: A cross-cultural analysis
2013
Abstract This paper considers drivers of online airline ticket purchasing behaviour, and analyses the influence of attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioural control on such decisions in two cultures. A number of hypotheses are examined using a sample of online shoppers in Spain and The Netherlands. We find that perceived control, subjective norm and attitude positively influence airline tickets online purchase intention in Spain, but in the Netherlands attitude is the key driver.
Summary, Conclusions, and Future Work
2011
In the present work, we addressed two research questions: (1) How does the complexity of a choice task influence decision-making behavior? (2) How can we consider knowledge about decision-making behavior for the design of IIMT? By answering the first research question, we contributed to current theory on decision-making behavior, while the main contribution of addressing the second research question is the development of INTACMATO, an IIMT-prototype for supporting choice decisions.
Change in Newcomers' Supervisor Support and Socialization Outcomes After Organizational Entry
2009
Using a four-wave longitudinal research design and a latent growth modeling approach, we modeled change in newcomers' perceived supervisor support and socialization outcomes (role clarity, work mas...
