Search for weakly decaying b -flavored pentaquarks

2018

Investigations of the existence of pentaquark states containing a single $b$ (anti)quark decaying weakly into four specific final states J/$\psi K^+\pi^- p$, J/$\psi K^- \pi^- p$, J/$\psi K^- \pi^+ p$, and $J/\psi \phi (1020) p$ are reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0/fb in 7 and 8 TeV pp collisions acquired with the LHCb detector. Signals are not observed and upper limits are set on the product of the production cross section times branching fraction with respect to that of the $\Lambda_b$.

Obywatelska inicjatywa ustawodawcza na przykładzie Szwajcarii

2018

Szkolne i studenckie lata w biografii Gabriela Narutowicza

2020

Aim: Historians often point out that an average Pole knows Gabriel Narutowicz as the first president of the Second Republic, murdered in the assassi-nation attempt on December 16th, 1922 in Zachęta. Unfortunately, Poles have little information about his education and professional achievements. That is why his education was presented in the article. Methods: A descriptive and explanatory method. Results: The analysis of biographical materials carried out for the purposes of the article indicates that Gabriel Narutowicz was a person who obtained a very good education. In a great deal it was the crew of his mother ‒ Wiktoria, née Szczepkowski, who initially guaranteed him home schooling and then…

Erfahrungstransfer aus der Schweiz an das nationalsozialistische Deutschland. Ricarda Huchs Frühling in der Schweiz

2020

The article presents Ricarda Huchs attitude towards the dictatorship of natio- nal socialism in Germany, from which the writer officially disbanded herself in 1933 by resigning from the membership of the Prussian Academy of Fine Arts and concluding at the same time that the Germanness in her opinion does not mean centralization of power, brutal methods and diffusion of people who think differently. This attitude is reflected in the autobiographical text of 1938, Friihling in der Schweiz [Spring in Switzerland] which refers to the experiences and observations of the writer during her stay in Switzerland in 1887-1896. Those memoirs serve as a kind of political message which simultaneously sho…

Kierunek Szwajcaria, czyli kilka epizodów z dziejów polskiej emigracji u podnóża Alp na przełomie XIX i XX wieku

2020

Restrictions for reimbursement of interferon-free direct-acting antiviral drugs for HCV infection in Europe

2018

All-oral direct-acting antiviral drugs (DAAs) for hepatitis C virus, which have response rates of 95% or more, represent a major clinical advance. However, the high list price of DAAs has led many governments to restrict their reimbursement. We reviewed the availability of, and national criteria for, interferon-free DAA reimbursement among countries in the European Union and European Economic Area, and Switzerland. Reimbursement documentation was reviewed between Nov 18, 2016, and Aug 1, 2017. Primary outcomes were fibrosis stage, drug or alcohol use, prescriber type, and HIV co-infection restrictions. Among the 35 European countries and jurisdictions included, the most commonly reimbursed …

L'alimentation carnée à Aventicum/Avenches capitale des Helvètes (Ier s. - IVe s. apr. J.-C.) Suisse, canton de Vaud

2010

This first synthesis concerns the animal bones, discovered since 1975 in Aventicum, the capital of Roman Switzerland. It is supported by the analysis of several residential districts, public sectors and suburbs, which represent five hundred chronological complexes and 74000 animal bones, dated from the Ist, to the IVth Century AD. During these centuries, Aventicum was incorporated to the Roman province of Gallia Belgica, then was raised to the status of a colonia and finally declined with the Empire. The analysis of bones was made to study various mutations which occurred during the occupation of the city. They include an improvement of breeding techniques, a new internal city organisation, …

New skulls of the basal sauropodomorph Plateosaurus trossingensis from Frick, Switzerland: is there more than one species?

2021

The Triassic basal sauropodomorph Plateosaurus trossingensis is well-known from mass accumulations at the German localities of Trossingen and Halberstadt and the Swiss locality of Frick, and is significant especially regarding its ta-phonomy and proposed developmental plasticity. These implications, however, rely on the assumption that this material derives from a single species, which has been questioned. Here we describe new skull material from Frick including eight complete and six partial skulls, more than doubling the number of known skulls of P. trossingensis. This exceptional sample size allows for gaining a deeper understanding of variability that may occur in a single species. The …

Triple life of Sports students through the prism of territory

2018

A student life comprising regular study time, coupled with investment in Sport (training or team coaching) and a few hours of salaried work, is a configuration favorable to academic success (understood as ability to get degree) in Sport studies (STAPS) at the University of Burgundy. But, against all statistical probability, students having registered without any selection in the branch campus of Le Creusot are more successful than those studying in the main campus of Dijon, despite individual characteristics similar or less favorable: in first year, emerges a territory effect. Using logistic regression models, based on various data (questionnaires of students enrolled in Sports in 2012-2013…
