Synchroniczne nowotwory płuc są rzadką chorobą, a prezentowany przypadek to pierwszy opublikowany opis jednoczesnego wystąpienia dwóch pierwotnych neuroendokrynnych raków płuca zlokalizowanych w jednym płacie. Przedstawiono przypadek 55-letniej pacjentki z dwoma pierwotnymi, odrębnymi neuroendokrynnymi rakami płata górnego płuca prawego. Pacjentka została przyjęta na oddział chirurgii klatki piersiowej w celu diagnostyki dwóch cieni okrągłych płuca prawego (o średnicy 11 i 19 mm) uwidocznionych na zdjęciu RTG klatki piersiowej wykonanym trzy miesiące wcześniej. Atrioventricular node ablation (AVNA) is generally reserved for patients whose atrial fibrillation (AF) is refractory all other therapeutic options, since the recipients will often become pacemaker dependent. In such patients, this approach may prove particularly useful, especially if a tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy is suspected. Historically, an "ablate and pace" approach has involved AVNA and right ventricular pacing, with or without an atrial lead. A fast PC-interface for synchronized sampling of digital data

We describe a high-speed interface unit for a PC-like microcomputer used for pulsar observations at the Northern Cross radiotelescope. The unit allows sampling synchronized to a master UTC clock and asynchronous output to a storage device with a peak data rate of about 2.5 MB/sec.

A synchrotron radiation X-ray scattering study of aqueous solutions of native DNA

Synchrotron radiation small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) was used to investigate solutions of native DNA at different ionic strengths and temperatures. The mass per unit length, radius of gyration of the cross-section of DNA and apparent second virial coefficient (A2) were obtained from Zimm plots in the rodlike particle approximation. The values of A2 obtained in this way are positive and almost constant indicating that the repulsive interactions still influence the scattering patterns at resolutions as high as 5-8 nm. Contrast variation for macromolecular structure determination is usually achieved by isomorphous replacement of 1-H by 2-H (D) using small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). This is particularly easy in aqueous solvents. By adding heavy water the contrast of dissolved proteins, nucleic acids and membranes changes drastically. It is the region inaccesible to solvent molecules, which acts as a label. Measurements of the scattering intensity at three different scattering densities of a solvent yields the three basic scattering functions. Quantum synchronisation and clustering in chiral networks

We study the emergence of synchronisation in a chiral network of harmonic oscillators. The network consists of a set of locally incoherently pumped harmonic oscillators coupled pairwise in cascade with travelling field modes. Such cascaded coupling leads to feedback-less dissipative interaction between the harmonic oscillators of the pair which can be described in terms of an effective pairwise hamiltonian a collective pairwise decay. The network is described mathematically in terms of a directed graph.
