Päiväkirjan kirjoittaja katsoo sekä menneeseen että tulevaan arvioidessaan elämänsä laatua ja kulkua. Mennyt on saatavilla sivuja taaksepäin selaamalla ja tuleva muistuttaa itsestään seuraavan sivun tyhjinä riveinä. Kirjoituksen aineksina ovat tulevaa koskevat odotukset ja menneisyyttä rakentavat kokemukset sekä niiden väliin avautuvat päivittäiset tapahtumat ja kirjoittamisen hetki. This article explores university students’ approaches to and positions with regard to making the most of their study time. The article discusses how various normative societal expectations around students’ use and management of time feature in their talk about how they organise their everyday lives. Games differ from most other forms of media by being procedural and interactive. These qualities change how games create and transmit meaning to their players. The concept of “real-time hermeneutics” (Aarseth 2003) is analysed in order to understand how temporality affects the understanding of games. It contributes to the growing research of platformisation of everyday life by focusing on temporality as a central dimension of platform power, a key mechanism tying participants by structuring intimacies, socialities, and relations that platforms enable and engender. Although several studies suggested considering gender in online learning, the literature about how male and female students would behave is fragmented. Little attention has been paid to the effect of gender on online learning behavioural patterns. This study aimed at investigating the roles of gender in online learning behaviours by analyzing the gender-related differences of students’ online learning behavioural patterns. Niniejszy rozdział stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy chaos obecny w różnych obszarach ludzkiego funkcjonowania dotyczy również czasu. Ponadto, czy można w jakikolwiek sposób zapanować nad tym chaosem i czy taka umiejętność pozostaje w jakimkolwiek związku z uzyskiwanymi efektami pracy własnej. Aby zrealizować ten cel, zostało przeprowadzone badanie ankietowe, które pozwoliło ustalić, że postrzeganie czasu jako chaotycznego pozostaje w związku ze sposobem gospodarowania czasem. Pozwala to wysunąć wniosek, że zarządzanie czasem ułatwia opanowanie chaosu.
