Conditionals play a key role in different areas of logic and probabilistic reasoning, and they have been studied and formalised from different angles. In this paper we focus on the de Finetti's notion of conditional as a three-valued object, with betting-based semantics, and its related approach as random quantity as mainly developed by two of the authors. Compound conditionals have been studied in the literature, but not in full generality. The automation of text complexity evaluation (ATCE) is an emerging problem which has been tackled by means of different methodologies. We present an effective deep learning- based solution which leverages both Recurrent Neural and the Attention mechanism. The developed system is capable of classifying sentences written in the English language by analysing their syntactical and lexical complexity. Abstract In this paper, we deal with an extension of the rural postman problem in which some links of a mixed graph must be traversed a given number of times over a time horizon. These links represent entities that must be serviced a specified number of times in some subsets of days (or periods) of the time horizon. The aim is to design a set of minimum-cost tours, one for each day/period of the time horizon, that satisfy the service requirements. Syphilis is an important public health problem and an increasing incidence has been noted in recent years. Characterization of strain diversity through molecular data plays a critical role in the epidemiological understanding of this re-emergence. We here propose a new high-resolution multilocus sequence typing (MLST) scheme for Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum (TPA). We analyzed 30 complete and draft TPA genomes obtained directly from clinical samples or from rabbit propagated strains to identify suitable typing loci and tested the new scheme on 120 clinical samples collected in Switzerland and France. We show that a bounded domain in a Euclidean space is a $W^{1,1}$-extension domain if and only if it is a strong $BV$-extension domain. In the planar case, bounded and strong $BV$-extension domains are shown to be exactly those $BV$-extension domains for which the set $\partial\Omega \setminus \bigcup_{i} \overline{\Omega}_i$ is purely $1$-unrectifiable, where $\Omega_i$ are the open connected components of $\mathbb{R}^2\setminus\overline{\Omega}$.
