In visual working memory (VWM) tasks, participants’ performances can be improved through the use of dimension-based retro-cues, which direct internal attention to prioritize a particular dimension (e.g., color or orientation) of VWM representations even after the stimuli disappear. Micro-determination of dithiocarbamates in pesticide formulations using voltammetry

Abstract The purpose of this work was to develop a reliable method for the micro-determination of dithiocarbamates (mancozeb, maneb, propineb, nabam, Na(CH3)2DTC, zineb, ziram, ferbam and thiram) in pesticide formulations for agriculture using adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV). The accuracy of analytical method was valued by analyzing simulate formulation samples prepared by us with known amounts of active ingredients. In addition, the applicability of the AdSV procedure for the analysis of DTCs and EBDTCs in micro-samples was evaluated by estimating its recoveries from spiked commercial formulate samples. Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) is a cornerstone of the next-generation digital sky and is now mandated in several countries. However, there have been many reports of serious security vulnerabilities in the ADS-B architecture. In this paper, we demonstrate and evaluate the impact of multiple cyberattacks on ADS-B via remote radio frequency links that affected various network, processing, and display subsystems used within the ADS-B ecosystem. Overall we implemented and tested 12 cyberattacks on ADS-B in a controlled environment, out of which 5 attacks were presented or implemented for the first time. Teacher-child interaction quality and children's self-regulation in toddler classrooms in Finland and Portugal

This study examines the association between teacher–child interaction quality and children's self‐regulation in Finnish and Portuguese toddler classrooms. The participants included 230 Finnish (M = 29; SD = 3 months) and 283 Portuguese (M = 30, SD = 4 months) toddlers and their teachers (n = 43 Finland; n = 29 Portugal). The children's behavioural self‐regulation (attention, working memory, and inhibition control) was individually tested, and the teachers evaluated the children's self‐regulation skills in the classroom. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt un salīdzināt morfosemantiskās vārdu veidošanās paņēmienus tūrisma terminos no franču un latviešu valodas tūrisma brošūrām. Pētījuma pirmajā daļā izstudēti terminoloģijas modeļi un nodefinēts termins. Šajā daļā mēs izceļam tūrismu kā specialitātes jomu, kurā apskatām tūrisma terminoloģijas raksturīgākās iezīmes, kā arī akcentējam morfosemantiskās vārdu veidošanās paņēmienus, kas tiek pielietoti terminu izveidē. Pētījuma otrā daļa ir veltīta tūrisma terminu morfosemantiskās vārdu veidošanās paņēmienu salīdzinošajai analīzei, kas tika atsegti no franču un latviešu valodas brošūrām. Water quality analysis in network and private storage tanks in intermittent distribution systems

In countries suffering from chronic water shortages, water distribution systems are often operated on an intermittent basis. As a consequence, the network is involved by cyclical filling and emptying periods causing water quality degradation. During the emptying period, the distribution system is unpressurised and it may occur that pollutants move into the network. Moreover, the stagnation period can promote microbial growth. For this reason water is usually heavily chlorinated in order to maintain it potable. Alternative analysis of transient infiltration experiment to estimate soil water repellency

The repellency index (RI) defined as the adjusted ratio between soil‐ethanol, Se, and soil‐water, Sw, sorptivities estimated from minidisk infiltrometer experiments has been used instead of the widely used water drop penetration time and molarity of ethanol drop tests to assess soil water repellency. However, sorptivity calculated by the usual early‐time infiltration equation may be overestimated as the effects of gravity and lateral capillary are neglected.
