Carbonated Inheritance in the Eastern Tibetan Lithospheric Mantle: Petrological Evidences and Geodynamic Implications

International audience; The timing and mechanism of formation of the Tibet Plateau remain elusive, and even the present-day structure of the Tibetan lithosphere is hardly resolved, due to conflicting interpretations of the geophysical data. We show here that significant advances in our understanding of this orogeny could be achieved through a better assessment of the composition and rheological properties of the deepest parts of the Tibetan lithosphere, leading in particular to a reinterpretation of the global tomographic cross sections. The role of slabs and oceanic plate geometry in the net rotation of the lithosphere, trench motions, and slab return flow

International audience; [1] Absolute plate motion models with respect to a deep mantle reference frame (e.g., hot spots) typically contain some net rotation (NR) of the lithosphere. Global mantle flow models for the present-day plate setting reproduce similarly oriented NRs but with amplitudes significantly smaller than those found in some high NR Pacific hot spot reference frames. ln this study, effect of partial alcohol reductio.n on the sensory modification of red wines was investigated. Preliminary triangle tests indicated the existencèof very slight differences between the dealcoholized wines of the study. Therefore, adapted descriptive methodologies had ta be used. ln addition to a comparative sensory profile, the Temporal Dominance of Sensations (TDS) method was chosen. Both types of profiles will be linked ta consumer preferences. Brain lateralization probed by water diffusion at the atomic to micrometric scale

International audience; Combined neutron scattering and diffusion nuclear magnetic resonance experiments have been used to reveal significant interregional asymmetries (lateralization) in bovine brain hemispheres in terms of myelin arrangement and water dynamics at micron to atomic scales. Thicker myelin sheaths were found in the left hemisphere using neutron diffraction. 4.7 T dMRI and quasi-elastic neutron experiments highlighted significant differences in the properties of water dynamics in the two hemispheres.
