La ricerca ha l’obiettivo di esplorare le dimensioni fondamentaliste e psicopatologiche nel mondo mafioso in relazione a come esse si presentano nel set(ting) psicoterapeutico e i vissuti controtransferali degli psicoterapeuti che hanno in cura pazienti provenienti da famiglie mafiose. Carbon dots are an emerging family of zero-dimensional nanocarbons behaving as tunable light harvesters and photoactivated charge donors. Coupling them to carbon nanotubes, which are well-known electron acceptors with excellent charge transport capabilities, is very promising for several applications. Here, we first devised a route to achieve the stable electrostatic binding of carbon dots to multi- or single-walled carbon nanotubes, as confirmed by several experimental observations. Selective writing and read-out of a register of static qubits

We propose a setup comprising an arbitrarily large array of static qubits (SQs), which interact with a flying qubit (FQ). The SQs work as a quantum register, which can be written or read-out by means of the FQ through quantum state transfer (QST). The entire system, including the FQ's motional degrees of freedom, behaves quantum mechanically. We demonstrate a strategy allowing for selective QST between the FQ and a single SQ chosen from the register. This is achieved through a perfect mirror located beyond the SQs and suitable modulation of the inter-SQ distances.

Members of the Rab GTPase family are master regulators of vesicle trafficking. When disregulated, they are associated with a number of pathological states. The inhibition of RGGT, an enzyme responsible for post-translational geranylgeranylation of Rab GTPases represents one way to control the activity of these proteins. Because the number of molecules modulating RGGT is limited, we combined molecular modeling with biological assays to ascertain how modifications of phosphonocarboxylates, the first reported RGGT inhibitors, rationally improve understanding of their structure–activity relationship. Rho GTPases in human breast tumours: expression and mutation analyses and correlation with clinical parameters

In the present study, we addressed the question of a putative relevance of Rho proteins in tumour progression by analysing their expression on protein and mRNA level in breast tumours. We show that the level of RhoA, RhoB, Rac1 and Cdc42 protein is largely enhanced in all tumour samples analysed (n=15) as compared to normal tissues originating from the same individual. The same is true for 32P-ADP-ribosylation of Rho proteins which is catalysed by Clostridium botulinum exoenzyme C3. Also the amount of Rho-GDI and ERK2 as well as the level of overall 32P-GTP binding acvitity was tumour-specific elevated, yet to a lower extent than Rho proteins. Darba mērķi ir izstrādāt metodi rekombinantas modificētās ornitīna δ-aminotransferāzes (MOAT) produkcijai un kristalizēšanai, analizēt MOAT strukturālās atšķirības no ornitīna δ-aminotransferāzes (OAT), kā arī noteikt MOAT kristālu struktūru kompleksā ar Latvijas Organiskās sintēzes institūta pētnieku sintezētajiem diazonamīda A struktūranalogiem. Tādejādi, varētu noteikt MOAT un diazonamīda A struktūranalogu ķīmisko mijiedarbību veidu, iegūstot zināšanas jaunu MOAT inhibitoru dizainam.
