Stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijas un depresijas simptomi pieaugušajiem ar vecāku alkoholisma pieredzi

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādas atšķirības pastāv starp stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju izmantošanu un depresijas simptomiem pieaugušajiem ar dažādu vecāku alkoholisma pieredzi un pieaugušajiem bez vecāku alkoholisma pieredzes. Kā arī pētījumā tika noskaidrots tas, vai pastāv saistības starp stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju izmantošanu un depresijas simptomiem grupās ar tēva, mātes, abu vecāku un bez vecāku alkoholisma pieredzes. Pētījumā piedalījās 104 respondenti. The presence of mechanical linkages between synergistic muscles and their common tendons may distribute forces among the involved structures. We review studies, using humans and other animals, examining muscle and tendon interactions and discuss the hypothesis that connections between muscle bellies and within tendons may serve as a mechanism to distribute forces and mitigate peak stresses. peerReviewed

Response of transgenic mannitol-producing tobacco plants to water deficit

Transgenic mannitol-producing (+mtlD) and wild type (-mtlD) tobacco plants were exposed to water deficit to test whether mannitol is involved in drought stress protection. Rooted cuttings of -mtlD and +mtlD plants were fully irrigated (100% ET) or received 25% ET for 40 days, followed by 20 days of re-watering. Water deficit reduced RWC of both plant types starting on the 22nd day, total stem length of -mtlD 25% ET already after 11 days, whereas that of +mtlD 25% ET only after 34 days. After 30 days of deficit, a greater percentage of mature foliage was retained by +mtlD 25% ET compared to -mtlD 25% ET. There is huge scientific interest in the neuropeptide oxytocin (OXT) due to its putative capacity to modulate a wide spectrum of physiological and cognitive processes including motivation, learning, emotion, and the stress response. The present review seeks to increase the understanding of the role of OXT in an individual’s vulnerability or resilience with regard to developing a substance use disorder. Thermal and Mechanical Characterization of Yarn Samples from Flemish Tapestry of the Sixteenth Century

We propose a physico-chemical approach for theharacterization of the conservation condition of yarns from a Flemish tapestry of the sixteenth century. The aging effect on the yarns’ performance was evaluated by comparison with commercial materials. Water uptake experiments highlighted the aptitude of yarns toward water sorption and their increased hydrophilicity upon aging. Thermogravimetric analysis can be considered a fast approach for the fiber identification and assessment on the material life-time. The LIPIDOGRAM2015 study was performed to estimate the prevalence of risk factors for atherosclerotic diseases as well as cardiovascular and related disorders in the primary care setting in Poland. Akadēmiskās pašefektivitātes saistība ar stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijām vecāko klašu skolēniem

Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot kāda ir saistība starp pašefektivitāti un stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģijām vecāko klašu skolēniem. Pētījumā piedalījās 90 vidusskolas pēdējo klašu skolēni no sešām dažādām klasēm ar atbilstošu dzimuma sadalījumu – 55 jaunietes un 35 jaunieši vecumā no 17-19 gadiem. Pētījumā tika izmantota Bērnu savas pašefektivitātes uztveres aptauja (Children’s Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale, Bandura, 2006) un Stresa pārvarēšanas stratēģiju aptauja (Strategic Approach to Coping Scale,Hobfoll,1998). Pētījuma mērķis bija teorētiski un praktiski izpētīt pandēmijas stresa, tā pārvarēšanas stratēģiju un dzīvesspēka savstarpējās saistības vecāka gadagājuma pieaugušo izlasē. Pētījumā piedalījās 194 vecāka gadagājuma pieaugušie vecumā no 65-86 gadiem (M=71,28, SD=5,27) . No tiem 68 vīrieši un 126 sievietes. No visiem respondentiem 89 ir augstākā izglītība, 105 respondentiem ir vidējā vai vidējā profesionālā izglītība (neviens ar pamata izglītību). No tiem nodarbināti 75 respondenti. Mājsaimniecībā dzīvo vieni (vientuļi) 96 respondenti.
