This chapter explores the education of bilingual students from an American teacher education perspective. Bilingual students in the United States are often diminished to their student status of “English Language Learner” (ELL). University Teachers’ Conceptions of Their Role as Developers of Technology-Rich Learning Environments

This phenomenographic study examines how a diverse group of university teachers conceptualised their role as developers of technology-rich learning environments at one university in Finland. The research findings illustrate a variety of conceptions. Five qualitatively different ways of understanding teachers’ roles regarding the development of technology-rich learning environments were found: 1) innovator, 2) early adopter, 3) adaptive, 4) sceptic and 5) late adopter. Family-teachers relationships through digital tools: analyses and proposals

La investigación exploratoria analiza las relaciones digitales entre docentes y familias en diez centros educativos de las provincias de Barcelona y Girona. La investigación recoge y analiza las diferentes herramientas digitales a través del análisis de documentos y de entrevistas semiestructuradas. El estudio muestra que la introducción de las TIC no ha conllevado cambios sustanciales ni en el qué ni en el cómo de las prácticas y las relaciones entre familias y docentes. Finalmente, partiendo de dicho análisis, se plantean pistas y propuestas de mejora en las actuales relaciones digitales entre docentes y familias.
