Structural distortions in homoleptic (RE)4A (E = O, S, Se; A = C, Si, Ge, Sn): Implications for the CVD of tin sulfides

The structures of Sn(SBut)4 and Sn(SCy)4 have been determined and adopt S4 and D2 conformations respectively; the anion [(PhS)Sn3]−, as its Ph4P+ salt, has a structure approaching Cs symmetry. In all three compounds, there are large variations in the ∠S–Sn–S within the same molecule, which have been rationalised in terms of the C–S–Sn–S–C conformations. For Sn(SR)4, the ∠S–Sn–S increases as the conformations change from trans, trans to trans, gauche and gauche, gauche, as the number of eclipsed lone pairs decreases and this rationale is shown to be applicable to a variety of A(ER)4 (A = C, Si, Ge, Sn; E = O, S, Se) and related [Mo(SR)4, Ga(SR)4−] systems. Novel, highly positively charged tripodal polyamines with appended heterocyclic moieties revealed an intriguing panel of protonation species within the biologically relevant range. Studied compounds bind nucleotide monophosphates by mostly electrostatic interactions but only the imidazole analogue showed selectivity toward UMP in respect to other nucleotides. Strong binding of all the studied compounds to both ds-DNA and ds-RNA is to some extent selective toward the latter, showing rather rare RNA over DNA preference.
Dipeptidyl Enoates As Potent Rhodesain Inhibitors That Display a Dual Mode of Action

Dipeptidyl enoates were prepared through a high-yielding two-step synthetic route. They have a dipeptidic structure with a 4-oxoenoate moiety as a warhead with multiple reactive sites. Dipeptidyl enoates were screened against rhodesain and human cathepsins B and L, and were found to be potent and selective inhibitors of rhodesain. Among them (S,E)-ethyl 5-((S)-2-{[(benzyloxy)carbonyl]amino}-3-phenylpropanamido)-7-methyl-4-oxooct-2-enoate (6) was the most potent, with an IC50 value of 16.4 nm and kinact/Ki=1.6×106 m−1 s−1 against rhodesain. Maģistra darbs uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 37 lappusēm. Tas satur 10 attēlus, 9 tabulas un darbam ir 49 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt krustotās un nekrustotās disparitātes stereoredzes asumu pirms redzes refraktīvās operācijas, divus, četrus un sešus mēnešus pēc operācijas. Pētījumā piedalījās 102 acu klīnikas pacienti – 65 sievietes un 37 vīrieši vecumā no 19 līdz 45 gadiem. Visiem bija miopija vai miopija ar astigmatismu. Jaunais izveidotais izkliedēto punktu globālais stereoredzes datorizētais tests dod iespēju novērtēt abus disparitātes veidus. Tutkimuksen tavoite on selvittää, miten kehitysvammaisista on kirjoitettu Aamulehdessä. Aineistona on Aamulehden jutut, joissa mainitaan kehitysvammaisuus vuosilta 2007-2008. Ajankohdan määräsi Ylisen insuliinisurmat, joista uutisoitiin ensimmäisen kerran 11.8.2007. Tutkimuskysymyksiä ovat: Kuka puhuu kehitysvammaisia koskevissa lehtiteksteissä? Esitetäänkö kehitysvammainen toimijana? Millaisilla nimityksillä heihin viitataan? Mitä stereotyyppejä heistä käytetään? Mitä uutiskriteerejä käytetään uutisoitaessa kehitysvammaisista? Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt atšķirības personāla atlasē iesaistīto personu priekšstatos par darbiniekiem un nodarbināto personu priekšstatos par sevi vecuma grupās 18-25, 30-35 un 50-64 gadi, papildus pētot, vai uztvertā diskriminācija un raizes par vecuma diskrimināciju saistās ar sevis novērtējumu nodarbināto personu izlasē. Mērījumu veikšanai tika izmantota Sociālās vēlamības skala un Ar darbu saistīto vecuma stereotipu aptauja, kuru aizpildīja 57 personāla atlasē iesaistītās personas un 137 nodarbinātās personas. Tika secināts, ka pastāv atšķirības starp to, kā personāla atlasē iesaistītās personas vērtē pētāmās vecuma grupas un kā nodarbinātās personas šajās vecuma grupās vērtē sevi. …
