QoS Based Routing Protocol for Intra-Mesh Infrastructure Communications
2015
International audience; Mesh Networks (WMNs) have been considered as a promising alternative to conventional wired networks, thanks to its flexibility and easy deployment. Thus, to ensure a satisfying level of QoS guarantees for real-time and streaming applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and Video on Demand (VoD), we propose a novel QoS based routing protocol for wireless mesh environments, called Hybrid QoS Mesh Routing (HQMR), jointly with a clustering algorithm to enhance scalability issues within the mesh infrastructure. HQMR is composed of two routing sub-protocols: a reactive routing sub-protocol for intra-infrastructure communications and a proactive QoS based multi-tree routin…
Self-configuring multipath intra-mesh infrastructure QoS based routing
2016
International audience; Multi-path routing concept was largely exploited in wireless networks to provide benefits such as fault tolerance, load balancing, performance improvement in terms of latency, etc. In this paper, we propose a multi-path routing based protocol named MP-IMRR (Multi-path Intra-Mesh infrastructure Routing protocol) to improve our previously defined QoS based routing protocol for wireless mesh networks (i.e. IMRR). MP-IMRR is defined in order to achieve better reactivity and faster recovery from eventual route failures than the IMRR protocol by adopting the backup routes concept. Besides, given the complexity increase while considering network management systems, we adopt…
A secure intersection-based routing protocol for data collection in urban vehicular networks
2014
Data routing has gained great intention since the appearance of Vehicular Networks (VANETs). However, in the presence of attackers, reliable and trustworthy operations in such networks become impossible without securing routing protocols. In this paper, we target to study and design a secure routing protocol S-GyTAR for vehicular environments. Several kinds of routing techniques are proposed in the literature and could be classified into topology-based or position-based strategies. Position-based is the most investigated strategy in vehicular networks due to the unique characteristics of such networks. For this reason, this work is based on the well-known intersection-based routing protocol…
OBSTRUCTED DEFECATION SYNDROME AND CHRONIC CONSTIPATION: CLINICAL AND SURGICAL ANALYSIS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS
2022
Chronic constipation and Obstructed defecation Syndrome (ODS) represent a high-incidence pathological status that severely compromise of Quality of Life (QoL). Our multidisciplinary study is aimed to investigate how the resolution of ODS by surgical technique can improve long-term clinical symptoms and the state of physical and mental health and QoL, focusing on the dual interaction between psyche and intestine Chronic constipation and Obstructed Defectaion Syndrome represent a high-incidence pathological status that severely compromise of Quality of Life. Our multidisciplinary study is aimed to investigate how the resolution of ODS by surgical technique can improve long-term clinical sympt…
(±)-alternarlactones A and B, two antiparasitic alternariol-like dimers from the fungus alternaria alternata P1210 isolated from the halophyte salico…
2019
Two new dimeric compounds of the alternariol class, (±)-alternarlactones A (1) and B (2), were isolated along with 11 known compounds from the fungus Alternaria alternata P1210. Their structures were elucidated with the assistance of long-range HSQMBC to address inadequate cross-peaks in HMBC that result from the highly dense quaternary carbons, as well as theoretical calculations. All isolated altenuisol derivatives were screened for their antiparasitic activities, which provide a preliminary structure-activity relationship of this class of compounds against neglected tropical diseases.
Performance Analysis of M-DPSK Modulation over Fast-Hoyt Fading Channels under Non-Isotropic Scattering Conditions
2021
In this paper, we analyze the symbol error probability (SEP) performance of M-ary differential phase shift keying (M-DPSK) modulation schemes over frequency-flat fast-varying Hoyt multipath fading channels. Assuming general non-isotropic scattering conditions, we first derive a finite-range integral expression for the probability density function (PDF) of the phase difference between two non-isotropic Hoyt vectors perturbed by additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). Based upon the theory of M-DPSK modulation and the obtained PDF formula, the SEP of M-DPSK and its corresponding asymptotic behavior in non-isotropic fast-Hoyt fading channels are derived. Specifically, a double semi-finite range …
Quantum Probes for the Characterization of Nonlinear Media
2021
Active optical media leading to interaction Hamiltonians of the form H=λ˜(a+a†)ζ represent a crucial resource for quantum optical technology. In this paper, we address the characterization of those nonlinear media using quantum probes, as opposed to semiclassical ones. In particular, we investigate how squeezed probes may improve individual and joint estimation of the nonlinear coupling λ˜ and of the nonlinearity order ζ. Upon using tools from quantum estimation, we show that: (i) the two parameters are compatible, i.e., the may be jointly estimated without additional quantum noise
Electron Emission of Pt: Experimental Study and Comparison With Models in the Multipactor Energy Range
2016
Experimental data of secondary emission yield (SEY) and electron emission spectra of Pt under electron irradiation for normal incidence and primary energies lower than 1 keV are presented. Several relevant magnitudes, as total SEY, elastic backscattering probability, secondary emission spectrum, and backscattering coefficient, are given for different primary energies. These magnitudes are compared with theoretical or semiempirical formulas commonly used in the related literature.
Efficient Local Search Limitation Strategies for Vehicle Routing Problems
2008
In this paper we examine five different strategies for limiting the local search neighborhoods in the context of vehicle routing problems. The vehicle routing problem deals with the assignment of a set of transportation orders to a fleet of vehicles, and the sequencing of stops for each vehicle to minimize transportation costs. The examined strategies are applied to three standard neighborhoods and implemented in a recently suggested powerful memetic algorithm. Experimental results on 26 well-known benchmark problems indicate significant speedups of almost 80% without worsening the solution quality. On the contrary, in 12 cases new best solutions were obtained.
