An Efficient Synthesis of γ-Aminoacids and Attempts to Drive Its Enantioselectivity

2008

Addition of carboxylic acid dianions to bromoacetonitrile lead, in good yields,to the corresponding gamma-cyanoacids, which on hydrogenation yielded gamma-amino acids. This two step methodology improves upon previously described results. Poor e.e's resultedfrom our attempts to drive the enantioselectivity of this transformation by chiral amide induction.

A Modular Synthesis of Polysubstituted Indolizines

2012

The N-alkylation of pyridines with cyanohydrin triflates or α-halonitriles furnishes 1-(1-cyanoalkyl)pyridinium salts that can react with nitroolefins under basic conditions to furnish polysubstituted indolizines. Overall, the indolizine core can be constructed from a pyridine, two aldehydes, and a nitroalkane, and no undesired functional groups remain in the products. When bromoacetonitrile was used for the N-alkylation, indolizine-3-carbonitriles were obtained instead. The pyridine component may be replaced by other azines, giving rise to related heterocyclic systems.

Brunner syndrome associated MAOA dysfunction in human dopaminergic neurons results in NMDAR hyperfunction and increased network activity

2020

AbstractBackgroundMonoamine neurotransmitter abundance affects motor control, emotion, and cognitive function and is regulated by monoamine oxidases. Amongst these, monoamine oxidase A (MAOA) catalyzes the degradation of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin into their inactive metabolites. Loss-of-function mutations in the X-linked MAOA gene cause Brunner syndrome, which is characterized by various forms of impulsivity, maladaptive externalizing behavior, and mild intellectual disability. Impaired MAOA activity in individuals with Brunner syndrome results in bioamine aberration, but it is currently unknown how this affects neuronal function.MethodsWe generated human induced pluripotent s…

Brutalismo: 4 taglie

2007

Tivoli Amusement Park Tour Guide

2019

The Tivoli Amusement Park is one of the largest amusement parks in the World, the total area is 250 hectares. It includes many attractions, some are very recent and others were made several years ago, but all of them are still able to arouse curiosity and fun for young and old people. Some people says that it's the only 2nd oldest surviving amusement park, untouched until today, after the one of Dyrehavsbakken, near Copenhagen. But these are only rumors, because by visiting the Tivoli Amusement Park it will be possible to undoubtedly remove this thoughts. The Tivoli Amusement Park is divided into 5 large entertainment areas: the Cardo & Decumano, the Aniene Water Park, Villa d'Este, the…

Abstract. The dynamics of growing collisional orogens are mainly controlled by buoyancy and shear forces. However, the relative importance of these forces, their temporal evolution and their impact on the tectonic style of orogenic wedges remain elusive. Here, we quantify buoyancy and shear forces during collisional orogeny and investigate their impact on orogenic wedge formation and exhumation of crustal rocks. We leverage two-dimensional petrological–thermomechanical numerical simulations of a long-term (ca. 170 Myr) lithosphere deformation cycle involving subsequent hyperextension, cooling, convergence, subduction and collision. Hyperextension generates a basin with exhumed continental m…

2021

This article presents the history of one of the largest Polish cemeteries in the Eastern Borderlands. Thousands of Poles, including artists, poets, writers, sculptors, prominent politicians, local government officials and soldiers fighting for Polish independence in various uprisings, were buried in the Sapieżyński Cemetery during its 200-year-long history. The necropolis was closed down by the Soviet authorities in 1980, and the entire area was bulldozed. Crushed tombstones were transported outside the city, and a theater building and a hotel were developed on the site. The paper recreates the cemetery’s history and tells the life stories of the most prominent individuals who were laid to …
