Many medical works, eastern and western, have described the technique Jiu Fa (moxibustion) of point Zhi Yin (BL 67) (reaching Yin) in order to correct a bad presentation of the fetus and thus facilitate a normal delivery. However, those works do not develop an explanation of the theoretical bases of Chinese medicine that lead to that therapeutic decision, and they do not mention what Nei Jing Su Wen Ling Shu teaches us about which energy path is the one that leads to a correction of the fetal position to allow an eutocic delivery when heat is applied with moxa on the little toe (BL 67). The orchards TAL on Palermo periurban countryside follows the Arab conception of hydraulic space. The concept of Hydraulic space combines several technologies to achieve the best use of water resources by differentiating agricultural productions in time and space and by connecting different functions (hydraulic, climatic and aesthetic) in a homogeneous system. Joseph Conrad wniósł do literatury angielskiej prawdziwie polską duszę i fantazję. Ostatni z polskich romantyków, jak sam siebie nazwał, wprowadził do światowej literatury polskie dylematy, rozterki i wątpliwości, a także tęsknoty i pragnienia. Conrad przeniósł polskie doświadczenie na poziom uniwersalny i takim owo doświadczenie również uczynił. Rozmaite relacje współczesnych ukazują, jak niejednokrotnie trudno było odnaleźć się Polakowi w anglosaskiej rzeczywistości, i z jakimi przeciwnościami musiał się zmierzyć.

The article presents Professor Andrzej Busza, a Conradian researcher, who is connected with the subject of his research, Joseph Conrad, by common experiences of alienation and growing into a different culture, life on the border of different worlds. Steroidal glycosides from the Vietnamese cultivar Cordyline fruticosa “Fairchild red”

Abstract A phytochemical study of Cordyline fruticosa “Fairchild red” (Asparagaceae) from Vietnam, led to the isolation of fourteen steroidal glycosides, including twelve previously undescribed along with two known ones. Ten compounds were obtained by successive solid/liquid chromatographic methods from an aqueous-ethanolic extract of the roots, and four from the aerial parts. Questo capitolo prende in esame una famiglia di pietanze che ha ampia diffusione in Italia e in Sicilia, quella delle minestre. Il termine minestra, di difficilissima traduzione, raccoglie piatti talvolta molto diversi tra loro fino ad accomunare, nei ricettari meno recenti, tutti i primi piatti italiani.
