Validation of the Marathon Motivation Scale in Chile
2021
The objective of this work was to validate the Marathon Motivation Scale (MOMS) for its application in the Chilean context. The study used a non-experimental, descriptive and transversal design. The sample was non-probability and intentional and was composed of 250 subjects (143 male and 104 female) runners who participated in the International Marathon of Viña del Mar with an average age of 29.8 (TD = 10.1) years. For the analysis of the data, an exploratory factorial analysis was carried out with free parameters, another one with seven factors fixed to the theoretical dimensions and a confirmatory factorial analysis with the items corresponding to the MOMS model. The validity and reliabil…
TEACHERS’ READINESS TO IMPLEMENT THE ACQUISITION OF TRANSVERSAL SKILLS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE NEW STANDARD
2019
In today’s rapidly changing world, when information technologies are developing very fast, a new change of the paradigm of the educational system is needed. It means that a teacher’s pedagogical activities also have to change – from an educator to a cooperation partner in the teaching/learning process. National Centre for Education (NCE) has worked out a new ”Competence approach to teaching/learning content”, the aim of which is to ensure the acquisition of the content of general education based on competence approach, and which embraces all stages in education. The objective of the article is to reveal the essence of competence approach and the readiness of primary school teachers to imple…
Transversal training within secondary teachers’ training in the face of current reforms in France
2009
09039; This article aims to define what 'transversal training' represents in secondary teachers' training in France. It attempts at the same time to assess critically the place it holds in the framework of the two years of training that university institutes for teacher training provide for young teachers. Noting the small place occupied by transversal training, this article questions its possible fate within the framework of current reforms.
A RAPID METHOD FOR CALCULATING THE TRANSVERSAL STRAIN IN THE MOIRE TECHNIQUE ALONG SECTIONS OF SYMMETRY
1970
An approximate rapid method is described for calculating in the moire technique the transversal strain directly from the longitudinal strain distribution across sections of symmetry. The method is based on evaluation of the load transmitted through the section and is corroborated by two examples.
Bifurcations of Regular Limit Periodic Sets
1998
In this chapter, (X λ ) will be a smooth or analytic (in Section 3) family of vector fields on a phase space S, with parameter λ ∈ P, as in Chapter 1. Periodic orbits and elliptic singular points which are limits of sequences of limit cycles are called regular limit periodic sets. The reason for this terminology is that for such a limit periodic set Γ one can define local return maps on transversal segments, which are as smooth as the family itself. The limit cycles near Γ will be given by a smooth equation and the theory of bifurcations of limit cycles from Γ will reduce to the theory of unfoldings of differentiable functions. In fact, we will just need the Preparation Theorem and not the …
Protocol: Literature review on the psychometric properties of the short versions of the scales of social desirability in the answers to competency se…
2018
[EN] Research in business organization in general and talent management (in university or professional students) uses in many cases self-administered questionnaires as a source of data to assess people's competencies. In clinical psychology, it has been shown that self-evaluations of behaviors may present a bias of social desirability. However, even in this field of research it is not usual to measure its effect when taking data. Our work proposes a protocol to find a set of scales of social desirability (SD) with less than 20 items that are valid and reliable. We also intend to identify if SD scales are associated with the self-assessments of some transversal competences.
A continuing debate in elementary geometry: the Simson–Wallace line and its many generalisations
2016
For some years now the importance has been appraised of demonstrating elementary geometry to pupils and future teachers through interactive geometry software. This fits within a view of the teaching of geometry that stresses a hands-on approach, thanks to which it is possible to teach the subject via historical syllabi, touching on ideas from different origins and of a transversal nature. The debate about the role of elementary geometry in the last 30 years is connected to this, with contributions by scholars such as Yaglom, Scimemi and Betti. In the perspective of following a sequence of elementary geometry constructions historically connected with each other, we suggest a path that analys…
Una pioggia vitale
2021
Rain of Books is an event promoted by Andrea Sciascia, as part of the educational and scientific activities of the Department of Architecture which aims to disseminate and encourage the relationship between students and the academic world. Wit…
L'accès à la titularisation des non reçus au concours de l'enseignement : L'impact du premier emploi sur le positionnement dans la file d'attente
2016
This research, as a part of a PhD thesis in educational sciences relates to the social network and the transversal skills developed by the Bachelor's degree students ("Licence") in a French college. Overall, this work aims at identifying and estimating origins and effects of student social integration and transversal skills within the college careers. Four areas of student social integration and ten skills stemming from a reference table are measured by an original questionnaire. In this paper, the first preliminary results of this work are presented and reveal the influence of various personal and contextual factors on the integration and skills scores stated by students.
