Flying phobia (FP) might become a very incapacitating and disturbing problem in a person's social, working, and private areas. Psychological interventions based on exposure therapy have proved to be effective, but given the particular nature of this disorder they bear important limitations. Semantic distance as a critical factor in icon design for in-car infotainment systems

In-car infotainment systems require icons that enable fluent cognitive information processing and safe interaction while driving. An important issue is how to find an optimised set of icons for different functions in terms of semantic distance. In an optimised icon set, every icon needs to be semantically as close as possible to the function it visually represents and semantically as far as possible from the other functions represented concurrently. Path Following in Non-Visual Conditions.

Path-following tasks have been investigated mostly under visual conditions, that is when subjects are able to see both the path and the tool, or limb, used for navigation. Moreover, only basic path shapes are usually adopted. In the present experiment, participants must rely exclusively on continuous, non-speech, and ecological auditory and vibrotactile cues to follow a path on a flat surface. Two different, asymmetric path shapes were tested. Participants navigated by moving their index finger over a surface sensing position and force. Visual Search for Grouped versus Ungrouped Icons in a Computer Interface

The paradigm of visual search was used to investigate how participants looked for a target file among distracter files in an icon-based computer interface. The purpose of these experiments was to study the effect of icons and spatial grouping on scanning speed. Does spatial grouping of identical icons increase the scanning speed? Do icons themselves speed up the search for a target file when compared with a condition in which the files are indicated with mere textual labels? Knowledge Acquisition in Conceptual Ontological Artificial Intelligence System

The paper deals with active knowledge acquisition based on dialogue between AI system and its user. Presented method uses Conceptual Ontological Object Orientated System (COOS) to distinguish differences between concepts and to unequivocally process the input stream. In case of concepts, that do not exist in the system yet, adequate algorithms are being used to position them in ontological core. Separate concepts differ in attributes values or in sets of direct connections with other concepts. The communication aspect of the system deliver information that allow generating proper interpretation for userpsilas statement.
