Diagrammatic Expansion for Positive Spectral Functions in the Steady-State Limit

Recently, a method was presented for constructing self-energies within many-body perturbation theory that are guaranteed to produce a positive spectral function for equilibrium systems, by representing the self-energy as a product of half-diagrams on the forward and backward branches of the Keldysh contour. We derive an alternative half-diagram representation that is based on products of retarded diagrams. Our approach extends the method to systems out of equilibrium. When a steady-state limit exists, we show that our approach yields a positive definite spectral function in the frequency domain.
Controlled thermal oxidation of nanostructured vanadium thin films

Abstract Pure V thin films were dc sputtered with different pressures (0.4 and 0.6 Pa) and particle incident angles α of 0°, 20° and 85°, by using the GLancing Angle Deposition (GLAD) technique. The sputtered films were characterized regarding their electrical resistivity behaviour in atmospheric pressure and in-vacuum conditions as a function of temperature (40–550 °C), in order to control the oxidation process. International audience; The interaction potential energy surface of the van der Waals CH4-N-2 complex has been calculated for a broad range of intermolecular separations and configurations in the approximation of rigid interacting molecules at the CCSD(T) and MP2 levels of theory using the correlation consistent aug-cc-pVTZ basis set. The BSSE correction was taken into account for all the calculations. The most stable configurations of the complex were found. Oxidovanadium(V) amine bisphenolates as epoxidation, sulfoxidation and catechol oxidation catalysts

Air-stable oxidovanadium(V) complexes with tetradentate amine bisphenolate ligands were made by the reaction of VOSO4·xH2O and ligand precursors in MeOH solutions. Isolated compounds were studied as catechol oxidase models as well as catalysts for epoxidation and sulfoxidation reactions. All compounds can catalyse such oxidation reactions without notable structure-activity correlations. Ferulic acid dissolved in water is selectively oxidized to vanillic acid in high yield (≈60 %) under remarkably mild and green conditions, namely at room temperature with air as primary oxidant, over a catalytic amount of nanostructured Bi2WO6. Reaction of anti-B18H221 with pyridine in neutral solvents gives sparingly soluble B16H18-3',8'-Py23a as the major product (ca. 53%) and B18H20-6',9'-Py22 (ca. 15%) as the minor product, with small quantities of B18H20-8'-Py 4 (ca. 1%) also being formed. The three new compounds 2, 3a and 4 are characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and by multinuclear multiple-resonance NMR spectroscopy. We describe the methodology applied for the retrieval of global LAI, FAPAR and FVC from Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) onboard the Meteorological-Operational (MetOp) polar orbiting satellites also known as EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS). A novel approach has been developed for the joint retrieval of three parameters (LAI, FVC, and FAPAR) instead of training one model per parameter. The method relies on multi-output Gaussian Processes Regression (GPR) trained over PROSAIL EPS simulations. Abstract This paper presents the algorithm developed in LSA-SAF (Satellite Application Facility for Land Surface Analysis) for the derivation of global vegetation parameters from the AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) sensor on board MetOp (Meteorological–Operational) satellites forming the EUMETSAT (European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites) Polar System (EPS).
