A mediados del pasado curso académico 1977/1978, Paco Gimeno, alumno de la Facultad de Geografía e Historia de la Universidad de Valencia, nos comunicó a un grupo de estudiantes de Prehistoria y Arqueología, la existencia en Algimia de Almonacid (hoja 640 del Mapa del Instituto Geográfico y Catastral, a escala 1:50.000) de una inscripción latina, al parecer inédita. The research project Mapa Escolar de Valencia (School Map of Valencia) was born out of an agreement between the City Council and the University of Valencia in order to carry out an investigation of the compulsory education system of the city and propose, if necessary, modifications to the current school zoning. The article discusses twenty tests performed by Valencian artisans to become masters of ―wire work‖ between the years 1508 and 1538. Considered minor works in the area of silver smithery, these pieces of jewellery are characterized by superimposed wire decoration. A peculiarity of these tests was that the pieces were not drawn on paper (the common practice for record-keeping purposes), but rather blackened and then stamped on- to paper. As a result, life-size and dated imprints have been preserved. as have the names of the artisans. The purpose of this paper is to study the historical contact between Aragonese and Catalan lexicon, in the context of the Romance languages, taking into account the historical influence exerted by the Aragonese on the Valencian language, which is also influenced by other Eastern peninsular dialects. We have used a method based on Geolinguistics and documentation, in order to analyze some words from popular authors from Valencia and Aragon of the XVIIIth, XIXth and XXth centuries.
