Il saggio delinea i percorsi creativi di Philip Glass a partire dall'inizio dalla fine degli anni Sessanta, con particolare riferimento alle opere o spettacoli di teatro musicale. Nella seconda parte vengono descritti l'eperienza biografica e artistica di Beni Montresor, nonché la genesi e i caratteri musicali dell'opera in due atti "The Witches of Venice" (Le Streghe di Venezia, 1994-2009), presentata al Teatro Massimo di Palermo nella versione che include anche i testi di Vincenzo Cerami.

In 2003 and 2004, in the month of July, Culotta was invited, first among the various Palermitan teachers who subsequently took part in this experience, to hold one of the intensive workshop courses in Architectural Composition at the IUAV. The activity of the workshops as a fundamental preparatory experience of the three-year degree course in Architecture Sciences constituted a didactic innovation of strong experimental value, being a compact themed laboratory, carried out entirely in the classroom. Testing of “Global Young's Modulus E” on a rehabilitated masonry bell tower in Venice

Abstract This paper shows the effectiveness of the techniques chosen for the rehabilitation of the historic “Sant'Andrea” masonry bell-tower in Venice. The achieved rehabilitation projects based on the indenting technique consisting in removing and replacing bricks in bad conditions, and on the isolation of the bells at the belfry quote, respect all the constraints represented by the aesthetic and structural features of the building. In the spring of 1947, the ‘Venetian’ architect took part in the competition, organized by the Municipality of Venice, for a series of houses to be built in the north and south estuary of the Venetian lagoon, obtaining the first and second prize, both ex aequo, with projects for residences proposals in Burano and Pellestrina. In these two unbuilt works, we can trace some important methodological aspects about the approach to the project by the architect who will make Venice the city subject of her later studies.

Il corale matalizio "Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her" (Dall'alto dei cieli io giungo) è stato realizzato da Martin Lutero sulla base della melodia popolare "Ich komm aus fremden Landen her" e fu pubblicato per la prima volta a Wittenberg nel 1535. Assai diffuso in tutta l'area culturale tedesca, questo brano è stato ripreso, tra gli altri, anche da J.S. Bach, sia nel "Weinachts-Oratorium" BWV 248 che nelle "Canonische Veraenderungen" per organo BWV 796 e 796a. Il 13 settembre 1956, Stravinsky diresse nella basilica di San Marco a Venezia la prima esecuzione del "Canticum Sacrum" (1955), insieme con le "Variazioni-corali sulla canto natalizio Vom Himmel hoch…" (1955-56). Il "Canticum" era stato realizzato su commissione del Festival delle Biennale e costituisce un esempio dell'approccio del compositore alla tecnica dodecafonica. Three visits of Jan Kochanowski in Padua, at that time under the rule of the Republic of Venice which influenced both cultural and intellectual life in the city, had a considerable impact on his literary output. This essay proves that there was a significant mark of the Serenissima entering into the theatrical life, related to one of his earliest texts, Satyr albo Dziki Mąz (The Satyr or the wild Man), dedicated to the king Sigismund II August and published presumably for the first time in 1563.
