Video lectures bring flexibility and enable distance learning in education. With the help of videos, educational organizations are able to serve a wider and more heterogeneous group of students. Piracy versus Netflix : Subscription Video on Demand Dissatisfaction as an Antecedent of Piracy

Drawing from cognitive dissonance and neutralization theories, this study seeks to improve the understanding on consumer decision-making between the current legal and illegal video consumption alternatives. We develop and test a research model featuring Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) satisfaction and various dimensions of SVOD quality as antecedents of video piracy neutralizations and attitudes. Based on results from an online survey among Finnish SVOD users, SVOD satisfaction is primarily determined by content quality, and has a small negative effect on attitude toward piracy through decreased piracy neutralization. Smart camera design for realtime High Dynamic Range imaging

International audience; Many camera sensors suffer from limited dynamic range. The result is that there is a lack of clear details in displayed images and videos. This paper describes our approach to generate high dynamic range (HDR) from an image sequence while modifying exposure times for each new frame. For this purpose, we propose an FPGA-based architecture that can produce a real-time high dynamic range video from successive image acquisition. Reconstructing the Gothic in games and gaming : Gothic monsters and ideology in the story world and player experiences of Fallout 3

This dissertation research investigates the deployment of Gothic elements in digital games and player experiences of Gothic monsters. The Gothic is a rich and popular resource for games that, through representations of monstrosities and injustice, aims to induce in players a pleasurable feeling of discomfort, yet also reflects contemporary anxieties.
