Practices in research, surveillance and control of neglected tropical diseases by One Health approaches: A survey targeting scientists from French-sp…

2021

One health (OH) approaches have increasingly been used in the last decade in the fight against zoonotic neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). However, descriptions of such collaborations between the human, animal and environmental health sectors are still limited for French-speaking tropical countries. The objective of the current survey was to explore the diversity of OH experiences applied to research, surveillance and control of NTDs by scientists from French-speaking countries, and discuss their constraints and benefits. Six zoonotic NTDs were targeted: echinococcoses, trypanosomiases, leishmaniases, rabies, Taenia solium cysticercosis and leptospiroses. Invitations to fill in an online q…

Alcohol Consumption and Long-Term Labor Market Outcomes

2017

This paper examines whether alcohol consumption is related to long-term labor market outcomes. We use twin data for Finnish men and women matched to register-based individual information on employment and earnings. The twin data allow us to account for the shared environmental and genetic factors. The quantity of alcohol consumption was measured by weekly average consumption using self-reported data from three surveys (1975, 1981 and 1990). The average of an individual's employment months and earnings were measured in adulthood over the period 1990–2009. The models that account for the shared environmental and genetic factors reveal that former drinkers and heavy drinkers both have almost 2…

Modalità teatrali nelle Confabulationes di Poggio Bracciolini

2014

Kult obrazów według Reformatorów: Marcina Lutra i Jana Kalwina

2017

Ojcowie Reformacji: Marcin Luter i Jan Kalwin zakwestionowali kult obrazu.

An exploratory study to investigate emotion elicited by immersive ambiances

2011

Food behaviour is modulated by the eating situation and environment. In a previous study, we investigated drink choices according to the ambiance by developing an immersive approach based on the concept of “having a drink in a bar”. Two bars (Modern vs. Traditional ambiance) were settled with a few piece of furniture (counter, tables and bar stools) made in raw wood for the Traditional bar and in blue retro-lighted translucent plastic for the Modern bar. A video-clip was projected on one wall: Red moving shapes associated to a “far west” music in the Traditional bar, and Blue moving bubbles associated to an “electro” music in the Modern bar. In each bar, 100 participants were asked which be…

2017

Kvalifikācijas darba ietvaros tika veikta inkasācijas sistēmas pārrakstīšana, saglabājot esošo funkcionalitāti. Sistēma sastāv no 2 komponentēm: servera puses lietotne, kur tiek glabāta visu inkasentu dati un Windows CE portatīvā datu termināļa puses lietotne, kurā inkasents ievada datus un sinhronizē tos ar serveri. Termināļa puses lietotne, izmantojot React izstrādes ietvaru, tika pārrakstīta mobilajām ierīcēm. Šī darba mērķis ir: pārrakstīt esošo termināļa lietotni mobilajām ierīcēm (Android, iOS) atjaunot novecojušu programmatūru ieekonomēt līdzekļus, inkasācijai izmantojot darbiniekiem izdotos viedtālruņus Jaunā lietotne viedtālruņos nodrošinās iespēju sinhronizēt datus ar serveri, ske…

PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF AN INOFFENSIVE FIXED-WING UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEM

2019

Aim of this paper is the preliminary design of an harmless fixed-wing unmanned Aerial System. To improve application fields, endurance has been selected as fundamental performance and the blended wing configuration has been chosen. So the fuselage has the same airfoil of the wing and contains all the payload. In this way the drag has been reduced. Because of the blended wing arrangement, to control pitch and roll elevons have been introduced. To guarantee the directional stability, winglets have been used; besides winglets increase the equivalent aspect ratio and consequently reduce the drag and improve the endurance. The selected propulsion system has been based on an electrical brushless …

Dissociation-constants of metat-ion-complexes with alkaline phosphatase from pig kidney.

1976

Using metal-ion buffers it was possible to remove Zn2+, Mg2+ and Mn2+ ions of pig kidney alkaline phosphatase reversibly. The dissociation constants obtained are KEMg: 4 X 10(-7) M, KEMn: 4 X 10(-8) M and KEZn: 8 X 10(-13) M (22 degrees C, pH: 9.6, mu: 0.07).

Heterogeneous borrowing hydrogen reactions with Pd/C and ZnO: Diol scope

2017

Abstract A borrowing hydrogen reaction with different diols was employed for the preparation of complex beta- gamma- or epsilon-amino alcohols from p-toluidine and tetrahydroquinoline with the aim of better understanding the applicability of the Pd/C ZnO heterogeneous catalyst.
