The present work aims at proposing a methodology able to return a single parameter that synthesizes the aspects characterizing the layout design problem that the analyst translates into requests of closeness and distance among departments. International audience; An effective preparation of new tailor-made macromolecular materials via a combination of two (atom-efficient) catalytic transformations is reported. First, new aliphatic polyesters with alternated composition have been prepared using a salen aluminum catalyst system. Next, the pendant vinyl moieties in those copolymers have been selectively transformed into various functional groups by metathesis in the presence of homogeneous Grubbs catalysts. Ethylene polymerization with a titanium complex [N,N-ethylenebis(3-methoxysalicylideneiminato)titanium dichloride] immobilized on the magnesium support with the formula MgCl2(THF)0.32(Et2AlCl)0.36 was studied. In particular, the effects of polymerization temperature, monomer pressure, and polymerization time on the activity of the catalyst and on the polyethylene properties (molecular weight and its distribution, melting point, crystallinity, and bulk density) were evaluated. From 2001 Italian university system has adopted the credits to mea- sure the workload of the students. The weighted mean of marks with credits as weights is used to measure the their performance. In our opinion it does not seem a proper way to measure. We suggest to adopt the median of the weighted marks, because we are considering an ordinale variable, with a non-normal empir- ical distribution, and a®ected by outliers. In the last two decades, the use of pumice as lightweight aggregate for concrete in structural applications has been the object of different studies. The aim was to find out if pumice can be an alternative to ordinary lightweight aggregate. The present paper is framed in this context. Here, a study is presented showing the use of pumice for making lightweight concrete units for masonry members. Through the paper, the formulation of a mix design for lightweight concrete is proposed.
