The Spanish republican project that came into power in 1931 relied on a strong support of the cultural world. Written media were used to spread its reforms that it supported. In political and literary circles, numerous publications were released by established writers as well as by the witness of this period. The publication of newspapers went on during the Civil War. Even the boats that transfered the refugees to Mexico, had three publications that proclaimed the necessity of staying united after the arrival. This intention was implicit in the school newspapers of the four Spanish schools in the Mexican capital and helped to keep track of Spain’s presence as a common referent.

At the end of the Middle Ages, the manner in which the courts of justice punished rapists clearly shows how seriously such crimes were judged at that time. Endeavoring to increase their juristic power and worrying that the propagation of rape would corrupt the entire society and threaten its survival, impelled the judges and their officials —princes, bishops, and municipal bodies — to deal with all complaints and to initiate inquiries about them. Summary Background Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease with a genetic background. Local psoriatic changes can be triggered by exogenous mechanical or irritant factors. Causative occupational factors have to be distinguished from the spontaneous course of psoriasis in occupational medical evaluations. The objective of this work is to demonstrate the medico-legal grounds for a homogenous assessment. Witnessing the experience of European bordering: Watching the documentaryUnder den samme himmelin an immigration detention centre

This article draws on theories of bordering and mediated witnessing to examine a documentary film that mediates migrants’ experiences of bordering in Europe. My analysis of Under den samme himmel/Days of Hope shows how the film captures the multiplicity of bordering practices, from geographical to socio-cultural borderings. The analysis is informed by watching and discussing the film in an immigrant detention facility in Finland with people who experienced and eye-witnessed experiences similar to those depicted in the film. This creates a sense of co-presence of the experiential landscapes in the border zones, and the film invites viewers to consider borders not as lines in the landscape, b…
