Work Environment, Stress, and Driving Anger: A Structural Equation Model for Predicting Traffic Sanctions of Public Transport Drivers.

2018

Public transport is an effective and sustainable alternative to private vehicle usage, also helping to reduce the environmental impact of driving. However, the work environment of public transport operators is full of adverse conditions, which, together with their high mileage, may increase the occurrence of negative safety outcomes such as traffic accidents, often preceded by risky road behaviors enhanced by stress, anger, and difficult operating conditions. The aims of this study were, first, to determine the association between work-related psychosocial factors and individual characteristics of public transport drivers and the rate of traffic sanctions they are subject to; and second, to…

Methodological Guide for the Analysis of Teacher Issues : : Teacher Training Initiative for Sub-Saharan Africa (TTISSA) : Teacher Policy Development …

2011

This guide aims to permit an analysis of the different dimensions of the teacher issue in various countries, with the objective of building a global vision of this issue. The work that it aims to support is thus not descriptive but rather analytical. In essence, the goal is not to describe how this or that aspect of the system, such as teacher deployment or training, functions, but rather to analyze existing situations and the results obtained and to attempt to identify the range of options possible in the country. The analysis allows the identification of spaces for dialogue to define teacher policy

Housekeepers lost in the Land of Labor Market Segmentation

2007

07022 - 13 p.; This communication analyses the role that the main social actors, employers, trade unions and the French government play in labour market regulations, especially in working conditions, for feminine low wage workers. Labor market segmentation and the dual market theory (Doeringer and Piore, 1971), with on one hand qualified workers employed in attractive and stable positions, and on the other hand manpower in low-paid and insecure jobs, often in back-breaking working conditions, are not new. However, they have recently reappeared in the situation of housekeepers in the French hotel industry, where there are particularly few chances of career ladders, and on the contrary, there…

Ylikuormitusta, lähijohtajan tuen puutetta vai vääränlaisia tehtäviä : miksi yhä useammat vanhustyöntekijät harkitsevat työnsä lopettamista?

2021

Yhä useampi suomalainen vanhustyöntekijä harkitsee nykyisen työnsä lopettamis-ta. Artikkelin mukaan työntekijöiden psykofyysinen kuormitus on selvästi keskeisin lopettamisaikeita ennustava tekijä. Lisäksi lopettamisaikeita ennustavat epäkohdat työn sisällössä ja lähijohtamisessa. Nuoret, yrityksissä työskentelevät, osa-aikatyötä tekevät ja yli kahden vuoden hoitotyön koulutuksen saaneet vanhustyöntekijät har-kitsivat työnsä lopettamista muita vastaajia tavallisemmin. Increasing numbers of employees working in the care of older people in Finland are seriously considering leaving their jobs. This article examines factors that predict care workers’ leaving intentions. The data consist of NORDC…
