International audience; Human skin is composed of three layers: the epidermis, the dermis, and the hypodermis. The epidermis has four major cell layers made up of keratinocytes in varying stages of progressive differentiation. Skin aging is a multi-factorial process that affects every phase of its biology and function. The expression profiles of inflammation-related genes analyzed in resident immune cells demonstrated that these cells have a strong ability to regenerate adult skin stem cells and to produce endogenous substances such as growth differentiation factor 11 (GDF11). Context: Foot ulcer is the principal cause of hospitalization for patients with diabetes. Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), an adenosine A2A receptor agonist, improves wound healing in diabetic mice. Stimulation of Wound Revascularization by Adenosine Receptor Activation

Adenosine is an endogenous mediator implicated in wound healing. The exact mechanisms and receptors involved are still under evaluation. We have observed that topical application of a selective adenosine A2A receptor agonist promotes wound healing in experimental animals, both healthy and with impaired healing. Histological analysis revealed that adenosine promoted granulation tissue formation, with increased cellularity, matrix deposition, and vessel density. Priming with proangiogenic growth factors and endothelial progenitor cells improves revascularization in linear diabetic wounds

In the present study, we investigated whether proangiogenic growth factors and endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) induce favourable effects on cutaneous incisional wound healing in diabetic mice. The proangiogenic effects of human EPCs were initially analyzed using a HUVEC in vitro angiogenesis assay and an in vivo Matrigel assay in nude mice (n=12). Efficient wound healing is essential for all animals from insects to mammals. Ciona intestinalis and Styela plicata are solitary ascidians belonging to urochordates, a subphylum that occupies a key phylogenetic position as it includes the closest relative to vertebrates. Urochordate first physical barrier against invaders is the tunic, an extracellular matrix that is constantly exposed to all kinds of insults. Innovative strategies to treat skin wounds with mangiferin: fabrication of transferosomes modified with glycols and mucin
