Carl Hauptmann ubiera swą opowieść w popularną formę powieści edukacyjnej. Droga Einharta prowadzi przez instytucje sztuki, wówczas napiętnowane przez konflikt pomiędzy wykształceniem akademickim artysty a jego kreatywną wolnością. Poniższy tekst koncentruje się na osadzeniu tego napięcia w ramach historycznych. W dalszej części przedstawione zostaną powiązania głównego bohatera z zaprzyjaźnionym z Carlem Hauptmannem malarzem – Otto Muellerem.

This study is an invitation to reflect on issues that fall within the area of collective memory, an area that awaits further in-depth analysis. More specifically, this article is a proposal of a broader study on cultural landscape and places of memory than that which is dominant in the sociological literature. In particular, I examine the relationship between the inhabitants of the Polish “Western Lands” and the material German heritage of the cities in which they happen to live. Metopoplax ditomoides (A. Costa, 1843) is recorded from Poland for the first time. Several specimens were observed in the package of product imported from France. Death specimens were found under the stretch foil a few months after their transport to Poland.

The original documents stored in the State Archive in Wrocław related to Piccolominis political and Church activity are a testimony of ample diplomatic relations of this city with him. Wrocław authorities’ main aim was to receive the support from the Papacy for an internal conłlict with the King Jerzy from Podbierad. The second part of this essay is devoted to the issue of Piccolominis Historia de duobus amantibus Polish translation, stored in the University Library in Wrocław, which was previously analyzed in the academic literaturę on the basis of the Nineteeth Century edition.

This arlicle proposes a new theory explaining why in 1465 the Czech Catholic noblemen rebelled against the King of Bohemia, Jiri of Podebrady. One of the main reasons was the interference of the city of Wrocław (Breslau), which tried to usurp the historical right of the Bohemian nobility to chose the Bohemian king. It also brings back to light the crucial role played in these events by Jośt II of Rosenberg, who was not only a representative of the most powerful noble family in Bohemia, but also the Bishop of Wrocław.
