Photokinetic examination of (Z,E,E)-4,4′-distyrylazobenzene

Abstract 4,4′-Distyrylazobenzenes demonstrate a photokinetic equilibrium and a superimposed thermal backward reaction in which the absorption coefficient of one of the partners in the equilibrium is principally unknown. Using the dependence of the photostationary state on the irradiation intensity, the photochemical quantum yields ϕ 1 A and ϕ 2 B were determined, as well as the thermal rate constant k , as a function of the irradiation and observation wavelengths. Experimental difficulties and the wavelength dependence of ϕ 1 A and ϕ 2 B are discussed.

Reactivity of Distibanes toward Trialkylalanes and -gallanes:  Syntheses and X-ray Structures of Bisadducts and Heterocycles

Reactions between distibanes of the type Sb2R4 and trialkylalanes and -gallanes R‘3M in 1:2 stoichiometry yield eight bisadducts of the type [Sb2R4][MR‘3]2 (R = Me, R‘ = t-Bu, M = Al 1, Ga 2; R = Et, M = Al, R‘ = Me 3, Et 4, t-Bu 5; M = Ga, R‘ = Me 6, Et 7, t-Bu 8), which were characterized by multinuclear NMR studies and elemental analysis. In addition, 1, 2, 5, and 8 are the first structurally characterized neutral main group Lewis acid−distibane bisadducts. 1−8 are unstable in solution toward the formation of heterocycles of the type [R2SbMR‘2]x. Cation exchange-based post-processing of 68Ga-eluate: A comparison of three solvent systems for labelling of DOTATOC, NO2APBP and DATAm

Interest in (68)Ga has led to a number of innovations for its provision suitable for clinical application. Several post-processing methods are available to reduce eluate volume and remove metal trace impurities. In this work three cation exchange resin based post-processing methods (acetone, ethanol and NaCl) have been compared, using three model precursors (DOTATOC, NO2AP(BP) and DATA(m)), in terms of labelling yield and reproducibility. The acetone and ethanol based methods provided greater reproducibility and yields that makes subsequent purification unnecessary.

The stirring of [ortho-(HC[triple bond]C)-C(5)H(4)N] with [nido-B(10)H(14)] in benzene affords [6,9-{ortho-(HC[triple bond]C)-C(5)H(4)N}(2)-arachno-B(10)H(12)] 1 in 93% yield. In the solid state, 1 has an extended complex three-dimensional structure involving intramolecular dihydrogen bonding, which accounts for its low solubility. Thermolysis of 1 gives the known [1-(ortho-C(5)H(4)N)-1,2-closo-C(2)B(10)H(11)] 2 (13%), together with new [micro-5(N),6(C)-(NC(5)H(4)-ortho-CH(2))-nido-6-CB(9)H(10)] 3 (0.4%), [micro-7(C),8(N)-(NC(5)H(4)-ortho-CH(2))-nido-7-CB(10)H(11)] (0.4%) , 4 binuclear [endo-6'-(closo-1,2-C(2)B(10)H(10))-micro-(1(C),exo-6'(N))-(ortho-C(5)H(4)N)-micro-(exo-8'(C),exo-9'(N))-(…

Efficient alkali iodide promoted 18F-fluoroethylations with 2-[18F]fluoroethyl tosylate and 1-bromo-2-[18F]fluoroethane

Abstract Radiochemical 18 F-fluorination yields of several compounds using the secondary labelling precursors 2-[ 18 F]fluoroethyl tosylate ([ 18 F]FETos) and 1-bromo-2-[ 18 F]fluoroethane ([ 18 F]BFE) could be considerably enhanced by the addition of an alkali iodide. The radiochemical yield of [ 18 F]fluoroethyl choline for example could be doubled with [ 18 F]BFE and increased from 13% to ≈80% with [ 18 F]FETos. By addition of alkali iodide to the precursor, the 18 F-fluoroethylation yields of established radiopharmaceuticals, especially in the case of automated syntheses, could be significantly increased without major changes of the reaction conditions.

The synthesis of the reported structure for seco-isoerivanin pseudo acid (1) and of an elemane bis-lactone 5 from santonin (4) through a common vinylic precursor 12 is described. Compound 5 is a known intermediate in a previous synthesis of the antitumor compound (+)-8-deoxyvernolepin (3). The vinyl group of 12 underwent a regio- and diastereoselective anti addition of an external electrophile and an intramolecular condensation to yield either the selenolactone 13 or the hydroxylactone 17. The lactones 13 and 17 served as key intermediates in the total synthesis of 1 and 5 respectively. Starting from the readly available N-melhyl-N-(1-phenyl-3-R-pyrazol-5-yl)-2-nitrobenzamides (1a,b), the pyrazoles, 4-aeetyl substituted 2a,b, were prepared in high yield. Reduction of 2a gave the amino derivative 4a, which was eyclized to the desired pyrazolo[3,4-c][1,5]benzodiazo-cin-10(11H)one (5a). Compound 2b afforded 5b directly. Compound 5b was also prepared by the action of phosphorus oxychloride on N-methyl-N-(1,3-diphenylpyrazol-5-yl)-2-acetamido-benzamide (6b).
