Svarīgi izprast, vai skolēniem interesē šajos tekstos atklātais. Ir zināms, ka mūsdienu jaunieši dažādu iemeslu dēļ maz lasa, vai dažreiz pat brīvajā laikā nepavada ne minūti lasot. Te var uzdot dažādus jautājumus, tomēr, vērtīgāk būtu tam meklēt risinājumus un skolēnus iedvesmot brīvajā laikā, atpūtas brīžos sēdēt ar grāmatu klēpī. Šajā pētījumā tiek aplūkots angļu valodas apgūšanas un pasniegšanas aktivitātāšu un stratēģiju pielietojuma nozīmīgums bērniem, kuri apgūst angļu valodu kā svešvalodu. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt angļu valodas skaņu uztveri, pēc Tabor (1997) stratēģiju un aktivitāšu pielietošanas struktūras, bērniem, vecumā no trīs līdz sešiem gadiem, angļu valodas nodarbības laikā. Diplomdarba autore ir angļu valodas skolotāja pirmsskolā, un ir izveidojusi angļu valodas mācību programmu "Happy Child". 2015.gadā četri skolotāji mācīja angļu valodu saskaņā ar šo programmu piecās pirmsskolas izglītības iestādēs Latvijā. Vēlme pilnveidot angļu valodas mācību programmu ir mudinājusi izmēģināt dažādas pedagoģiskās pieejas, lai uzlabotu pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu angļu valodas vārdu krājuma apguvi; kā viens no risinājumiem ir rasts multi-sensoro uzdevumu izmantojums angļu valodas stundās. School climate as predictor of teachers’ capacity to meet the educational needs of adopted children in Italy

The current study examines the association between different components of school climate (teacher–principal and teacher–parent relationships, parents’ involvement in school activities, connection between school and the local services) and teachers’ competences and knowledge regarding the adoption experience. Participants were 573 teachers (95.7% women; mean age = 47.06, SD = 8.66, ranging between 25 and 65) residing in three Italian regions characterised by rates of international adoptions that are higher than the national average. We examined longitudinal associations between individual leisure activities (television viewing, video viewing, computer games, listening to music, board games, musical instrument playing, reading, arts, crafts, socializing, clubs or scouts, sports, outdoor activities) and being overweight using logistic regression and latent class analysis in a cohort of Finnish twins responding to self-report questionnaires at 11–12 (N = 5184), 14, and 17 years. Objectives: To study associations between perceived neighborhood resources and time spent by older adults in active travel. Methods: Respondents in six European countries, aged 65–85 years, reported on the perceived presence of neighborhood resources (parks, places to sit, public transportation, and facilities) with response options “a lot,” “some,” and “not at all.” Daily active travel time (total minutes of transport-related walking and cycling) was self-reported at the baseline (n = 2,695) and 12–18 months later (n = 2,189).
