Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is the most common inherited retinal dystrophy causing progressive vision loss. It is accompanied by chronic and sustained inflammation, including M1 microglia activation. This study evaluated the effect of an essential fatty acid (EFA) supplement containing specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs), on retinal degeneration and microglia activation in rd10 mice, a model of RP, as well as on LPS-stimulated BV2 cells. Aquest article reflexiona sobre la presència de la música en l’obra assagística i cinematogràfica d’Eric Rohmer des d’una perspectiva interdisciplinària que té en compte el pensament de l’autor sobre altres arts, especialment sobre la literatura i el cinema. El nostre objectiu és mostrar la important reflexió sobre la creació i la recepció artística que va realitzar aquest autor a través del gènere literari de l’assaig i que va portar a la pràctica de manera coherent en les seues pel·lícules. La seua perspectiva realista, inspirada en la crítica cinematogràfica de Bazin i l’obra literària de Balzac, influeix en la seua manera de concebre i utilitzar la música en el cinema.

Objective: To compare the anesthetic action of 0.5% bupivacaine in relation to 4% articaine, both with 1:200,000 epinephrine, in the surgical removal of lower third molars. As a secondary objective hemodynamic changes using both anesthetics were analyzed. Study Design: Triple-blind crossover randomized clinical trial. Eighteen patients underwent bilateral removal of impacted lower third molars using 0.5% bupivacaine or 4% articaine in two different appointments. Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of Oraqix® during scaling and root planing (SRP) in comparison with 20% benzocaine and placebo. Study Design: 15 patients requiring 4 sessions of SRP were enrolled. For each patient, Oraqix®, Hurricaine®, vaseline or no anesthetic product were randomly assigned each to a quadrant. Treatment pain was evaluated on a 100 mm Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and on a Verbal Rating Scale (VRS). The amount of product administered, the need to re-anesthetise, patient and operator satisfaction and the onset of side-effects were also recorded. Material and methods Twenty-one BMS patients were randomly assigned to two groups: 12 in the laser group (LG) and 9 in the control group (CG).
