Levy targeting and the principle of detailed balance

We investigate confining mechanisms for Lévy flights under premises of the principle of detailed balance. In this case, the master equation of the jump-type process admits a transformation to the Lévy-Schrödinger semigroup dynamics akin to a mapping of the Fokker-Planck equation into the generalized diffusion equation. This sets a correspondence between above two stochastic dynamical systems, within which we address a (stochastic) targeting problem for an arbitrary stability index μ ε (0,2) of symmetric Lévy drivers. We discuss two independent methods of solution of a master equation whose biased jump transition rates account for long jumps of L\'{e}vy-stable type and nonetheless admit a Boltzmannian (thermal) equilibrium to arise in the large time asymptotics of a probability density function $\rho (x,t)$. Our main goal is to demonstrate a compatibility of a {\it direct} solution method (an explicit, albeit numerically assisted, integration of the master equation) with an {\it indirect} path-wise procedure, recently proposed in [Physica {\bf A 392}, 3485, (2013)] as a valid tool for a dynamical analysis of non-Langevin jump-type processes. Abstract Operator-valued functions of the form A (λ) ≔ A − λ + Q(λ) with λ ↦ Q(λ)(A − μ)− 1 compact-valued and holomorphic on certain domains Ω ⊂ C are considered in separable Hilbert space. Assuming that the resolvent of A is compact, its eigenvalues are simple and the corresponding eigenvectors form a Riesz basis for H of finite defect, it is shown that under certain growth conditions on ‖Q(λ)(A − λ)− 1‖ the eigenvectors of A corresponding to a part of its spectrum also form a Riesz basis of finite defect. Abstract We consider a prototypical nonlinear parabolic equation whose flux has three distinguished features: it is nonlinear with respect to both the unknown and its gradient, it is homogeneous, and it depends only on the direction of the gradient. For such equation, we obtain existence and uniqueness of entropy solutions to the Dirichlet problem, the homogeneous Neumann problem, and the Cauchy problem. Qualitative properties of solutions, such as finite speed of propagation and the occurrence of waiting-time phenomena, with sharp bounds, are shown. We also discuss the formation of jump discontinuities both at the boundary of the solutions’ support and in the bulk.

A remarkable result known as Rad´o-Kneser-Choquet theorem asserts that the harmonic extension of a homeomorphism of the boundary of a Jordan domain ⌦ ⇢ R2 onto the boundary of a convex domain Q ⇢ R2 takes ⌦ di↵eomorphically onto Q . Numerous extensions of this result for linear and nonlinear elliptic PDEs are known, but only when ⌦ is a Jordan domain or, if not, under additional assumptions on the boundary map. On the other hand, the newly developed theory of Sobolev mappings between Euclidean domains and Riemannian manifolds demands to extend this theorem to the setting on simply connected domains. L’originalité de notre recherche tient à la notion de compétences sociales puisque l’on suppose que le jeune va mobiliser un certain nombre d’entre elles à l’entrée du dispositif puis tout au long de celui-ci. En effet, nos résultats démontrent que la façon dont le dispositif est appréhendé par les bénéficiaires dépend en partie de ces compétences mais aussi du parcours antérieur, à la fois scolaire et professionnel.
