Catalan and Schröder permutations sortable by two restricted stacks

Abstract Pattern avoiding machines were introduced recently by Claesson, Cerbai and Ferrari as a particular case of the two-stacks in series sorting device. They consist of two restricted stacks in series, ruled by a right-greedy procedure and the stacks avoid some specified patterns. Some of the obtained results have been further generalized to Cayley permutations by Cerbai, specialized to particular patterns by Defant and Zheng, or considered in the context of functions over the symmetric group by Berlow. En el present treball parem esment a 3 il·luminacions del Breviari d’Amor de Matfré Ermengaut que són ben eloqüents –valga la sinestèsia: imatges que són eloqüents— de la vocació d’Ermengaut en pro de la cristianització de la fin’amors. Catalan Morphology and Low-level Patterns in a Network Model

The fact that more specific or low-level morphological patterns may coexist with the most general or abstract ones is a characteristic insight of Cognitive Morphology. According to the bottom-up approach of the model, it is even to be expected that low-level patterns may have a more relevant role than the most inclusive and abstract ones. Literatures migrants. ‘Jo també sóc catalana’ de Najat El Hachmi

This article discusses «migrant literature» in Catalonia, looking at the particular case of Najat El Hachmi, a Catalan writer of Moroccan origin. Here we analyse her first book, the auto-biographical Jo també sóc catalana (“I Am Also Catalan”) by examining how the migratory experience is expressed from a linguistic, cultural and gender perspective. We also compare her case with that of other writers, especially those belonging to the so-called «Francophone Maghreb» literature.
